Tespia v.99 Thread

No, they're all replaced with the secret mastery books.

Unfortunately, no. But, secret mastery books could be anything!

Oh, and if you were wondering, 195 possible mastery book rewards, and there's an equal chance of getting any one of them.

That's not a good thing.

Each time a new job is introduced that's 8+ books more that will get in the way of trying to find what you're looking for.

So basically we're giving up a boat in exchange for the "Mystery Box."

Not that I'm complaining, since the only mastery books I need seem to only come from gach or something (Guardian 20 has no monster that drops it from what I can tell). It's rather irritating.

Dual Blades has a bug right now... can't add any pont to 4th job tier.

Sorry, I didn't mean for that to come across as actual enthusiasm.
Anyway, it wouldn't be wise to hunt for Secret Mastery Books as you would do mastery books now. It's more like, something you find while training that you can sell for some pot money. You really just buy the books you need in the FM now.

Judging from what I've seen, probably. But someone was dropping recipes a while back that lets me convert 1500 HP potions to pills, and I think it was permanent. Then again, that was a tier 2 potion.

Exactly. This is why I expect certain valuable books, like mw30, to inflate.

what i dont think so, botters mass kill mobs= yay tons of books?

That logic only goes so far...
At about .512% to get any book in the maple world, you're stuck with about 195 books before you could get 1 MW30.. or hell.. any book you want. People and botters have a hard time getting one book. Imagine how hard it is to get 195. You're going to have certain books inflate. If for every 195 botters you'll find 1 MW30, I don't think the price will deflate as much as people want it to be.

Would have had plenty of time if a certain sp user didn't leave at 5min in...... Rolleyes

Hackers do about 5 runs in Scania a day, averaging about 10 MW30s a day and the price hovers at 500m.

At about 1/195 books being MW30, that's 1950 Mystery books that need to dropped server wide to match the current rate that hackers are bringing them in. I doubt that manywill be found by all botters.

It's pretty much set in my mind that MW30 will inflate. Same for Books like TT30/Mw20 that are common now since HT spews them out and everyone solos it.

And at above, is Hawkeye the last Instructor spawned?? That's amazing. Do they drop anything?

weird that you got a "hawkeye 1/1" thinguie though

I guess I should get my Corsair over there, I have 5% dex so I'm basically pro by Tespia standards.

Need to practice bossing on it first tho. Not really familiar with how the ship works.

i dunno, but hawkeye flooded us (pun intended, yet accourate) with thousands of those little summons, to the point where it was just a blurry mass of yellow sharks, add to that the fact that some UA tried to KS me with sharks today, and i now pretty much hate pirates.

and i've been trying to form a more serious part, but honestly, 99k HP, and i still died there, the damage is insane, and for a normal party in the normal server, a cleric is basically mandatory.

i'm gonna make a paladin just to try again with bryan tomorrow, if anyone wants to come.

On another note, if you fuse untradeable reverse gear, you get tradeable crap out. Easy way to destroy all those priceless items...

Finally got decent pot on my gun though

edit: OMG, finally fused a Unique item... I'd say that's about 1 after 300+ fuses.

Try with an Aran and Final Toss. They should be able to leech back their HP fast enough assuming they summon enough monsters, and its the best multitarget DPS in the game now. Only disadvantage is not having maxed High Mastery, Freeze Standing, and Aegis available which are quite negligible when you're just pushed into a corner and leeching health back.

I'm all for coming too if I happen to be around/awake, if you don't mind having a bowmaster with crazy glitched stats like everyone else

Does fusing drop the stats of an item at all? Is there any reason NOT to fuse an item?

As far as I can tell, fusing has 2 basic styles. Stats of input items don't matter, except for 1 fact: Does it have potential? This is the only thing that seems to affect outcomes.

1) one or both items don't have potential
5/6 - produce non-potential item
1/6 - produce hidden potential item
Individually, stats have about a 90% chance of being average. So most items you get out of it are average with/without potential. The chance of above average items does rise over time, though (more levels in Alchemy = more above average items)

2) both items have potential
19/20 - produce hidden potential item
1/20 - produce no potential item
Stats are the same, average clean most of the time.

In terms of hidden potential, this works differently from cubes - it always resets number of lines and rare/epic/unique. They both have what I expect are around the same odds:
2 lines - 67%
3 lines - 33%
rare - 97%
epic - 2.7%
unique = 0.3% (approximate)
It doesn't matter what they start with, you'll nearly always get a rare equip.

Items you should fuse
2 cheap clean/crappily scrolled items
2 rare items, esp. 2 lines
Items you should not fuse
Well scrolled items
Potential + non-potential item
Epic/unique items (almost guaranteed to drop to rare)

If you have ~6-8 of an item, you can give it potential. If this is cheaper than a potential scroll (6m for 70% = ~8.6mil per hidden potential, so items worth about 1mil or less) then it's a good idea.
If you have a few clean items with useless potential, you can faux-cube them. This costs whatever you pay for the rare 2L item - so expect those to rise towards cube prices, or just not be sold in FM anymore, on popular items. If you can get rare 2L items for less than the cost of cubes, and all you want is Rare potential lines, then this is a good way to get them.
