Pretty sure after Tetra was revealed to be Zelda she got captured soon after. Aryll was too young to be Zelda anyway. The two (Link and Zelda) have always been the same age.

She isn't Zelda. When it was revealed that she held a fragment of the Triforce of Wisdom, the King of Red Lions/King Danphes gave her the other piece and when that happened, Tetra was transformed to reflect the appearance of Princess Zelda. That's why she lost that appearance after the Triforce was used and they were sent back to the surface of the ocean.

Her "turning into" Zelda was just a way to show the reocurring act of the Legend of Zelda history, like a play.

If I were nit picking, I would have pointed out the fact that it wasn't because she was turned into Zelda that she was captured by Ganondorf, it was the fact that it was revealed that she held a piece of the Triforce.

I don't see where that is mentioned. o.o According to one of the games, the Triforce splits into three when touched by one with an impure heart. They obtain the piece of the Triforce which reflects what they resemble, while the other two pieces are given to others in Hyrule who resemble those atributes.

And it's obviously stated that Tetra was a decendant of Zelda. The King himself stated it before he revealed that her necklace was a fragment of the Triforce of Wisdom.

Why would someone who isn't Zelda be holding a fragment of the Triforce of Wisdom in the first place? Are you telling me that just because a talking boat gave her the rest of the Triforce of Wisdom she suddenly "transforms" into Zelda and forgets her past as a Pirate?

I'd also like to point out that in Hyrule Castle you can see a painting of Zelda (Tetra) and a bunch of men who look just like her pirate crew. She was probably changed back when she hit the surface because the King flooded Hyrule and it was no longer there.

-Tetra is a decendant of Zelda. It's stated in both Ocarina of Time and Wind Waker.
-Who said she forgets her past as a pirate? It's not like she started a new life, only her appearance changed. Nothing else.

Also just a random off-note, the Skyward Sword picture Mark showed is confirmed from Ninty that the girl is Zelda.

pretty sure she is NOT zelda, the same way that this link isn't really link, honestly, it just played with the "very similar parent-son" trope, that picture was the knights of zelda of long ago, with zelda herself, god-knows how many years ago.

because tetra is the descendant, she can get the triforce of wisdom, "link" has to go collect the triforce of courage that was broken by the original link, and ganondorf still held the power triforce from so long ago.

Generation, bloodline, who cares, we all know Ganon returns per 100 years and a new "Link" and "Zelda" must rise up to stop Ganon's tyranny.
If anything, it's a constant repeat of history in the timeline. Every 100 years, history repeats itself.

The Lokomo sage Anjean also speaks of an ancestor of Zelda; a pirate that established the kingdom of New Hyrule. Anjean and Zelda's ancestor, became friends shortly after the pirates' arrival; Anjean entrusted her with the Spirit Flute under the condition that her people protect the land for all time. At the end of the game, when Zelda's spirit attempts to get back in her physical body, she asks for Tetra's blessing.

In the Japanese version, Tetra is directly referred as Princess Zelda's grandmother.

However, there was another tale told about the Triforce, one that stated that if a person whose power, wisdom, and courage were not in perfect harmony were to lay his hands on it, the Triforce would shatter into its three separate pieces. This person would keep the piece of the Triforce that represents their most developed quality, and the other two pieces would seek out a hiding place in the bodies of those chosen by destiny. When Ganondorf laid his hand upon the Triforce this prophecy came true, and the Triforce shattered, sending the three pieces, the Triforces of Power, Wisdom, and Courage, into the bodies of Ganondorf, Princess Zelda, and Link, respectively. in short, rather than reincarnations, you could say that they "represent" the same values of the heroes of yore, and as such, are accepted by the triforce

i don't, i literally tried to avoid EVERY possible spoiler, to the point of stopping reading any forums.

in the end, i still got spoiled a good amount, but not enough where i would know so much about the game i wouldn't enjoy the "NEW CHARACTER: X" appearing
