You guys are really making way too much out of this whole immature issue. We're playing Maple Story which in itself, like Afro has already stated, is a childish game that appeals to adults. Contrary to popular belief Disney does have some pretty serious themes in their movies.

Watch some of the movies now that you're older and you'll see what I'm talking about. There is a lot more behind the cutesy animations and sing-a-long style musicals. Not to mention Kingdom Hearts has shown us that, even though it can be cutesy, it has a large appeal to adults, regardless of Final Fantasy elements present or not. The majority of the worlds are Disney, are they not?

And just to clear things up, Disney does not have a stake in Squeenix which means that there will be no The World Ends With You and they do not own any Final Fantasy characters.

If Disney seriously bought out maple, I'm pretty sure that they're smart enough and experienced enough not to ruin the game to the degree that some of you guys are saying.

I didn't honestly think that my patch notes would come to life, I was joking. Funny. Haha.

That doesn't make a lick of sense. If they were going to go to all that trouble, they'd just create an entirely new IP, not buy an existing one and sink a lot of time, effort, and money into it to completely change it, knowing that the existing fanbase may reject the whole thing and leave completely.

If Disney were to become involved, it would only be to ADD things to the game, not remove what we have and put Disney IP in its place. They would potentially add Disney bosses, it's true, but they would put them in new areas. They wouldn't overwrite Horntail with Maleficent, Pianus with Ursula, Papulatus with Hades.

But look at how Coke's partnership with Nexon paid off with Coke Town. In kMS, they didn't remove all monsters in Maple World and replace them with Coke themed alternatives. Just as they wouldn't replace existing Maple World monsters with Disney analogues if Disney were to be involved in the project.

IMO, I'm thinking of something along the lines of "Disney World Tour". That way, you could go from a combination of the various kingdoms to the african plains and so on.

If Nexon and Disney did start talking, this seems like a possible outcome (something id love to happen). But, Malaysia got that themepark, and I recall NxProse talking about Codie's theme park, and since we are most likely getting Singapore, we probably, possibly will get (maybe?) Ulu, Malaysia, and finnaly the Theme Park, which GMS Nexon will most likely call Codie's Theme Park.

Yea, IF Disney were to buy Nexon, maybe, but no, Nexon doesn't want to sell. Also, I remember Disney had some copyright issues with Tarzan..

I know this is a little bit of a late response/bump here, but I thought I'd at least give a more accurate (of late) response to Afro's ps.

ps incidentally, can anyone give any sort of qualitative value on Disney's GM ingame presence in its current properties?

It varies per game. Toontown has little to no GM presence. However, they're banning system is quite effective, though most of their bans are due to non G-Rated or E-Rated words in their speedchat (essentially just free chat). They have that monitored, which is why so many of the bans are taken from that. Their hacking prevention system is near flawless. Hacking in their game is so rare to see that you could play the game for years (and I have done this) without seeing one hacker or cheater. That doesn't mean it's non-existent, as there are multiple reports with screenshot proof, but you can very easily never see it. The only real "hacks" aren't even that beneficial in the first place. The two popular ones are for racing (which can get you 3 laffpoints or HP) and training your Doodles, which are pets. Training your doodles just allows you to heal more LP/HP when you call upon it in battle.

Virtual Magic Kingdom (AKA VMK, also now closed) had a very active staff. In VMK they were called Hosts, and were active than I'd ever seen. I played that game for all of 1 week and spotted at least 14 different Hosts/GMs in-game. Bans were very small in the game because the chat was very, very filtered. At certain points you couldn't say words like "white," "wall," "paper" etc.. They were eventually fixed over a period of time but it was annoying to deal with.

Can't forget that all of their games (Toontown, VMK, & Pixie Hollow) are updated, a lot. They listen to players more than Nexon ever will on feedback and in-game suggestions. You can find every single update, maintenance, patch, whatever dating back to 2001 at the game's open here for Toontown.

Back when I played TT like 3~4 years ago, and I played for a good year or two, I saw no GMs at all. None. They only ban people based on reports they get from others, and ban them from their database. ._.; I hope, that if this does happen, it doesn't turn out like TT GMs... -_-

I personally would love to see Disney merge/buy Nexon and take over MapleStory. The changes they would most likely make are long overdue. They wouldn't do any of the pumpernickel I've read that people think they'll do, like major overhauls and completely changing everything. That's just a load of crap.
