Here's a compilation of every scroll / bait scroll I used on my VL gloves. With commentary?!

I'm only being a plantain because people think I'm stupid enough to think that 10% isn't 10%.
Think of it this way: you roll a die 15 times and you NEVER get a 6. The chance of you rolling a 6 on the next roll is STILL 1/6, but probability dictates that it is more likely to roll a 6 since each side has equal probabilities and 6 has not yet been rolled. 10% is 10% and that will never change, just like the 1/6 chance.
Sure, this is a crappy analogy, but in the end, I spend more meso, use more scrolls, and make myself feel better. That's my choice, and you guys get more of a show.
So please, don't complain.

Think on it this way, would you rather have used a white scroll for every single attempt?

as it stands, 9 slots at 10% success comes out to about 90 white scrolls, assuming you have one success every ten attempts.

All I'm saying, is he got his 27 attack gloves, and he used a hell of a lot less than 90 white scrolls.

Rather than waste a white scroll for every single one of those failures, he took the gambler's route, and came out ahead in the end.
Scrolling a pair of gloves with 10%'s, and only blowing through 30-40 WS is amazingly lucky.

There are at least 2 other pairs in bello - they just don't flaunt like I do. I've seen several screenshots of 27att gloves on basil. There are plenty other pairs out there, these aren't the first

Neither vega's or pam's are in cash shop, so that wasn't an option I wanted to take advantage of the cheap white scrolls, they are currently 300m+ and rising in Bellocan.

Probability only models future events. Whatever HAS happened is of no concern when speaking probabilities.
There are 2 points in time in this picture: Imagine using two 60% scrolls.
- Point A: Before using any: Probability of 2 scrolls passing = 36%
- Point B: After using one: Probability of 2 scrolls passing have 2 distinct scenarios:
1/ Scroll 1 passed: 60%
2/ Scroll 1 failed: 0%
- Point C: After using both scrolls: Probability of those 2 scrolls succeeding: uh... what?

The problem is that whichever point you stand at, you STILL think that the initial probability remains true and take it into account. This is true prior to any event; After certain points? No, not really.
The chance of success for an already-failed scroll is 0%.

If this makes more sense to you, think of multiverse.
Each time you use a scroll, the universe splits into 2, in one of which you passed it, the other you didn't. (or rather 5 universes and 3 of which passed, 2 failed)
In the end, you will have a certain number of universes BUT you're traveling down a single one and whatever's in the other have no bearing to what you have now.

With that said, I've landed two consecutive 10% scrolls on the first two slots of an overall, so I don't find landing one on the 4th try very convincing of dummy scrolling working. Of course, it could, for all I know, but that would have NOTHING to do with probability, more likely something in the coding of scrolling success.
Though, the overall outcome is indeed nice, and congrats for that.

It makes sense to me, but I guess that's because a lot of southperry has taken college level math/probability/statistics courses and I haven't.
I'm taking AP statistics next year, so I'll probably laugh at my example when I look back on it, but whatever. I used 42 out of 80 expected 10%s to pass 8 slots, and I don't really care whether it was probability, god, my good looks, or some other factor that made it that way. I'm just happy it's over

I hit level 200 a year and 1 day after my old marksman was deleted on 3/11/10. I wanted it to be exactly one year but most people couldn't make the 10th :/
I was pretty poor and had crappy gear up until VPQ, which made me rich. Once those funds ran out, I already had mostly 15% gear, so I had no need for NX. When LHC came out, I started killing Von Leon which is my main source of income. I also do PB runs, and that nets in nice splits
