Disgaea 4: The Promise Unforgotten
#21
I was so excited by this trailer that I went out and bought Disgaea 3 for new $15 Smile

Is that the Ds one? I was looking at it, and decided it looked too... idk, maybe dark for my tastes, so I bought Luminous Arc 2 instead. This trailer looks epic though. Are the two games similar?

Only Disgaea 1 was ported over to the DS, and it's terrible...
PSP versions are way superior.

EDIT: FFFFFFFFFFFFFFFUUUUUUUUUUUUU
Just read a topic on lolFAQs and it's confirmed that the item level cap in D4 is a WHOPPING 300! HOLY CHRIST!

Quote:+100 from going 1-100.
+30 from doing item route only
+75 from Reverse pirating

The rest is luck/patience in finding level spheres and mystery rooms.

That only nets you to 205! TOO MUCH RNG FOR PERFECT ITEMS!

Unless they increase the cap from 99,999,999 to whatever, I doubt the damage is gonna increase that much. I'm pretty sure they're making it easier for people to hit said cap this time around cause getting to 99,999,999 in D3 was only possible with magichanging.

Theres only one word to express what Disgaea means: FU'CKING EXAGERATION!!!

Ok that was 2 words but thats how awesome disgaea is. One of those few games that you ACTUALLY don't feel forced to replay it because it costed like what? 30-50$ (Don't know $ prices but i do know that a video game in my country is like 2x-4x your regular prices *Facewall*)

You're missing a few digits!

99,999,999,999! Boom!

Also, enjoying D3 a lot. No loli so I am extremely happy. The story is a little bland and drags on some times, and I'm tired of the de Vato brothers but the gameplay is just as much fun as I remembered. I'm on Chapter 7 right now.

I don't understand what your huge amount of rage over "loli" is, homes. Flonne is NOT a loli. Etna could be considered one, since they actually bother making it blatantly obvious she's flat chested, and even make fun of it, but it's not like they're constantly waving it in your face. But, I digress. To each their own, eh ese?

On a more serious note, the storyline in 3 is pretty lackluster overall.... I found it to be rather mindless/pointless, and in the end you don't really feel like you got ANYWHERE. The storyline in 2 is much better, and there's not any loli in 2 either (aside from etna being in your party, but she's a side character anyway, and can be pretty much ignored). Though the gameplay in 3 is FAR better than the other 2. You should at least give 2 a bigger chance, weddo.

I did give 2 a chance and am still willing to do so but

A while ago I bought a copy of Disgaea 2 used and it had some scratches on it. It didn't work so I tried to fix it up and got it to the point where it would work but it constantly freezes. I figured out a way to bypass that up to chapter 4 (muting the music so it skips that part of the disc) but then it started freezing again on its own.

If I could find D2, or hell, even D1 at this point then I would buy and play them but they're hard to find in any of their incarnations.

You have a psp, right?

Pretty cheap, if you have a PSP, which I recall you saying you played the 3rd birthday, so I'm assuming you have one.

I don't buy games online.

I got D1 before PSN went down, and I'm enjoying the hell out of it. Pays to have a huge-ass memory stick.

Ouch, Sarah. That's pretty limiting! Guess your only option is to try and find it at a nearby gamestop / EB games if you have any. Or maybe a random video game store that isn't all that well-known. Sometimes stores like that have some rare games randomly. (Or the PSP playstation store whenever it goes back up)

lol, but Disgaea 3's cap is 99,999,999 stat wise D:
It'd be awesome if D4's cap was raised to 99.99 trillion though.

Only thing I liked in D3's story? Baby Mao in, I believe, Chapter 4.
BABLOO!

All this talk really wants me to start up Disgaea 3 again so I can fully perfect my Adell. He only has perfect level'd items, but not maxed out Aptitudes or maxed out innocents on his items.

I'm interested, but I still haven't finished 1 or 2 on PSP, and 3's been sitting unopened since I bought it for very cheap a little over a year back... :x

Depends on what they do, if anything.
1. Increase "Damage %" at max rank
2. Allow magichange to break the 99,999,999 stat cap.
3. More "counters" than 9.
4. Increase "counter" damage by more than +100% return value.
I'll be more surprised if we can even get to 10+ Quadrillion, since the guy barely broke 1 quadrillion as it is.

Then again, people are already claiming that you can tip 1 quadrillion in Disgaea 4 without stacking your damage in the most inhumane way possible, so who knows.
