JapanMS - Open-To-All Test Server; May 16th ~ 30th
Wouldn't advanced combo attack work better...? Constant passive 200% as opposed to elemental weakness-based bonuses?

I suppose the survivability would help DBs though.

Elemental Charges only work with blunt weapons and swords, according to the super megaphones I see in-game.

It seems weapon limitations were not changed, so other than universal buffs like Adv. Combo and the like, it's best to go from Warrior to Warrior or Mage to Mage if you want to keep weapon-specific buffs/attacks.

I'm working on a Dark Knight right now. Currently, I'm heading to El Nath to do the third job advancement.

Any ideas of what class to rebirth into? I'm thinking Paladin at the moment.

Figures, so Paladin -> Hero would be the best way to go if you're a Pally. Hero has options to everything!

Right. This must be the worst thing ever in terms of imbalance. What the hell are they injecting over at JMS?
Not to mention that rebirthing from a lvl 200 NL seems really worthless. Almost no useful universal buffs at all. This system might have its perks, but for me, it'll ruin much of the fun.

if you can get DB skillbooks somehow, go DB, or evan maybe, double berzerk for the lulz.

what else? i don't want a simple warrior->warrior thinguie it sounds... boring. maybe aran to see if dk/drk techniques work with with combo?

I am curious as to whether Berserk and Combo would stack.

How about Dark Knight → XBow?

That could prove interesting in many ways.

What's the limit on the amount of skills your previous character can bring in rebirth?

None, you keep all skills.

is there a second skill window so that u can select skills from previous job or no?

I swear if this comes to GMS I might as well quit..this ruins classes being different with different skills Tongue

There is a 5 Class window (Warrior, Mage, Pirate, Thief, Bowman) which you can access skills from your past job.

This is all frightening to think about.

BUT! It blows the utter hell out of the door to brand new, interesting, unique and different class combinations with different skills!

Just nice, I have a JMS account since 2006.

Honestly, this isn't nearly as gamebreaking as the potential system was. Potential allowed some (particularly wealthy) players to increase their damage by a factor of 3 or more. I can't think of any combination of skills from 2 seperate jobs that would as much as double one's damage.

Near-infinite HP/MP was always available, but it used to cost ridiculously high amounts. This system makes high HP more available to everyone, at a significantly lower price.

But yeah, I don't like this idea either. Despite the fact that you can theoretically make 90 (110 if DBs count) different adventurer class hybrids, all you'd ever see from the DPS whores would be DrK/Heroes or Shad/Sairs because the gap between certain combinations is staggering. I can see what JMS might've been thinking, but the whole system seems stupidly unbalanced.

Dark Link Wrote:Just an FYI, unless they'll change it for the rebirth system, you need to wield a Sword / Mace to use the elements, so anything that involves "Paladin -> ???" won't work as switching weapons cancels the charges altogether.

That doesn't eliminate the Hero/Paladin combo, or just using Paladin for the broken Shield skills. Magicians, Shadowers, and a few other classes can make great use out of those skills. Blessing Armor especially will be a draw to making Paladins for people now...

Plus there's a chance other classes' skills won't be weapon-specific, thus allowing you to use Swords/Maces with other classes' skills.

All in all, this seems like a mechanic to make certain classes completely OP while others completely terrible. What are you going to combine a Sin with? Or a Mechanic? Or Bowmen? Outside of a few extra skill perks, overall it seems completely useless to rebirth using a majority of classes.
