No it's not. There is never a good excuse for removing content. The game isn't all about the best exp monsters and training. There is also the joy of exploring areas. Removing an area because it wasn't good training is idiotic and asinine.

7th Day Market was a perfectly fine feature.

No, don't remind me of 7th Day Market. Oh the agony... That quest popping up all the time...

I just wish they'd take the initiative to make the game balanced more. Up those areas more, down others more. Make an actual balance, and not have areas like Singapore and Masteria which completely blow the game balance out. Diversity is what makes games great; when you're stuck in the rut of the same areas over and over again, it turns it into a hell. If you have to grind, make it interesting, make there be options. Don't pass out with bare minimum.

That was hated by a large percent of the community and absolutely worthless.
When was the last time you heard of anyone using the 7th day market before it was removed? Because I know no-one who ever went there after the first week, or at most, after the first 4 to get that stupid quest that you needed to do 4 times (or something like that) involving chickens.

China is only good for the "hell levels" from Lv31~35 or so. Guess what? Mushroom Castle easily gets you from Lv31 to 35 within a day, even before BB. That means that China was made completely obsolete, and which is why they're removing it.

As for Thailand...it's only good for the Pythons, which have plenty of substitutes after BB.

According to extractions, all the Shanghai monsters were bumped up 20 levels, from 20-37 to 40-57 (besides centipede).

No one hated the 7th Day Market, they hated the light bulb. Those two things are completely different.

This is nothing more than an absolutely worthless opinion. And even if it is true it doesn't excuse removing content.

Says you. That's just another map that they have to hook spawns to, which they have to hook drops to, thus increasing the server load that wee bit more. The world upon being put online spawns monsters and handles their movements from the moment the first person accesses that map. At that point, it's nothing but a waste of resources. So if it's almost completely unused than yea, theres a damn good reason to scrap the useless thing.

Might as well delete 50% of the places in Maple then, huh?

Except more than 50% of the maps in Maple are used and have a purpose. Though, that'll change once Monster Park comes out.

Metas right. You shouldn't just delete content because it "wasn't liked by the community." What the hell did Thailand and China ever do to impede your leveling or playing progress. they were two nice little areas you could go to on your free time. It could be just playing around, doing the quests, or even just killing for fun. No area in this game is "useless" because they can all have something to do.

This also pretty much kills my hope that MSEA would get the Monster Book Update JMS got, since those maps were used for cards on the various sets. :/

The chances of this happening for any other version is low, considering most versions are into following the path that KMS clean cuts. JMS has been taking a fairly unorthadox approach to this, and it really is working, for the most part. Redoing Evan/DB was the only real try that failed on their part.

Shanghai and Shaolin Temple are in the sets. The only set Shikage was unsure of was Masteria cards in his previous topic.

I wonder if MSEA will convert Neo Tokyo to Neo City like some other versions did. I wouldn't be surprised, even though they didn't make a statement about it yet.

I find that doubtful. And the places they're deleting have, or rather had a purpose, even if it wasn't for leveling.

Personally If i was in control of the game, I'd delete anything that would be of no more use to the game or the players at all

Everything has a use. And it is a good thing you don't run the game, Maple would be far worst than if hackers ran it.
