Coin Exploit
FINALLY
I bet we don't see maple up until tomorrow afternoon or evening. Then we see at least a 48 hour roll back to saturday morning, PLUS TONS of banned accounts and hell bans. I say basically anyone with 80+ chaos acquired after wednesday gets banned. Yes this ban is gonna catch a LOT of legits but I guess at this point, all I can say is, people need to play the game and then also protect themselves as well. Don't to anything that might be deemed fraudulent if a 3rd party where to look at it without all the facts.

Wow, so you're fine with many legits being banned?
Good to know.

Why speculate what will happen when Nexon often surprises us?

I say just leave it be and rage or not whenever the final verdict has been reached.

Of course I'm not ok with it Locked! The last time something like this happened my guild and buddy list were empty for months. Loosing so many of my friends, whether they sploited or not, felt like $*&#. Some of those people I was really close too and I knew would never do anything illegit. They were victims of collateral damage.

I'm simply stating that there is going to be collateral damage just like the last time. Its not pretty, but with the amount of chaos flung randomly into everyones inventory, it looks to be that way.

I understand where you're coming from, and I completely agree. This is the main reason why I haven't bought or acquired any Chaos Scrolls in my inventory. However, with this new supposed "meso exploit" out I have a feeling that I will be getting some sort of punishment due to my recent trades.

They had better not touch my mesos. I avoided chaos/pinks like the plague but I sold a ton of stuff zz.

On the subject of 200's being rolledback. The meso exploit last fall a guildie had the "privilege" of leveling to 200 three times.

**Update** We will NOT be performing a rollback to address this issue. The affect on the meso economy has been very minimal and we are working on addressing the large increase in scrolls and equipment items through other methods. We will release details soon. Thank you for your patience.

I have a feeling by exploiters, they were referring to those that actually used the 3rd party programs... so they'll ban a bunch of lv.16 accounts.

Nexon downright sucks at suppressing the hacking population on their games, people run around with hacked equips and they do nothing, people annihilate their games economy (not referring to this chaos exploit, since that depends on your perspective) and at best they slap them on the wrist.

What I would like to see happen, start IP banning and make a public notice that they will now take legal action against hackers, and actually do it! People would stop hacking if they got a letter saying they were being taken to court by Nexon for loss of revenue for a couple thousand dollars, have fun explaining that to mom and dad. Firmer action on their part is long overdue.

Edit: @above lol yeh minimal? people made billions overnight. if they just delete the scrolls, they might as well say "hacking our game is ok, in fact, you are better off hacking it, at least you will come out on top" All those hackers made billions overnight, and the legits that had 50+ chaos's already, and as an attempt to hedge their loss on those buy some at the ruined price (buy some at the cheap cost, so that when they eventually return to 1m or w/e, you sell them, so you don't lose out of the 10m ea you planned on getting with those 50), suffer the cost of the hackers making billions.

I have been playing this game since it started, i was never proud of nexon's actions. they always fail on me. everytime i see exploit i log off till next SC. not risking my account. just a shame that i needed to hunt maple items (on a level 200) @ crap spots for some 20% scrolls. and i bought a lot for 25mil each. then suddenly its being exploited.
hackers always ruined things for me, this isn't the first time. when i solo czak it's really really hard thing to do. and i have to apple. so iget like really low profit , but still a profit. and once i'm done and i'm leaving the altar i see 5 hackers waiting to enter. that kinda lame, and it'll never change. in this game, legits win hackers only when its comming to qqing. and i'm done qqing. just playing for fun, even when i know for sure all the hard effort on the things i'm doing, hacker doing them in 10 times easier and 10 times faster.

lol'd at minimal. I dont see how they cant rollback. for the past 2 days anything of value that can be gained from this event has been made worthless in meer hours also not to mention anyone who bought the chaos just for the lolz, has a chance of being banned themselves now.

But okay. i`l give them a little faith and a chance to proove me wrong but im sure hackers will benefit the most from this. Once again Tongue

Makes me think why i play legitly anymore... a large % of the high level community are hackers or leeching from them.

@above- i dont see them doing that myself. Its hard for them to even track the hackers down.. im sure they didnt use their real info on their accounts.

It was minimal. Effecting a small set of event items and a scroll that was already deflating is rather small in an economy of thousands of items. Yes, those items aren't worth anything, but the hackers are going to get hell-banned and permabanned on their accounts and the prices will hopefully rise again. If not then, then oh well. Cheaper items for everyone, which many won't complain about. Regarding merching, when you do it you should understand the risks of things like deflation due to hacking, especially when an event item is something like a chaos scroll.

And at the billions made overnight, people need to realize that there was more pushing mesos around than making them. Tax also took out on the large movement of mesos. I'm actually willing to bet money that a Meso Sack event introduces more mesos into the economy than this hack did.

It's minimal because there were very few people who traded their coins for weapons and sold it to NPCs. That means less meso entered the economy vs hackers getting meso from other people; all the meso they gained was from other people in the same economic system.

what about all those chaosed items? Lots of people bought 100 chaos scrolls for nearly nothing and ended up with a few attack shields, matk shoes, etc. Anything chaosed before that is worth alot less now.

Well, from what I understand and saw, the hack was made public Saturday in the afternoon? Along with that, the game is down and any hacker accounts with lots of chaos scrolls probably are going to get banned (thinking they could hoard them). The short time factor plays into that, there was only so many items that could be scrolled in that period of time. It was also dependent of finding the items.

I don't think the mass chaosing of stuff will effect other items by a lot, but it will bring down their price. Thing is, if Nexon gets rid of a lot of the scrolls (which they probably will via bans), the prices should stay up there without plummeting so badly. Chaos scrolls should go back up too.

Just from what I saw in Bellocan, everything wasn't really effected aside from pinks and chaos scrolls being 100k. I was actively browsing the FM a lot the past two days looking for deals. The only thing I actually noticed was 10 ATT WG's went up like from 170 to maybe 250 tops. The reason behind that I believe was hackers buying them, maybe transferring them to their mains, and selling them for cheap NX.

The thing you pointed out is one of the crappier things from this situation, but even then a roll back would have been worse.

so lemme get this strait, i have 35+ chaos scrolls 100% legit on my DW and my friend has over 200 100% legit does that mean we gotta both npc em all?

Quote:The 6th Anniversary coins exploit has been blocked.
Chaos scrolls are temporarily unusable and untradable.
6th Anniversary scrolls are temporarily unusable.
All items obtained with 6th Anniversary coins are temporarily untradable and have a value of 0 mesos if sold to an NPC.
Chaos scrolls have been permanently removed from the list of items that can be obtained for 6th Anniversary coins.

All players that abused this exploit will be banned, however we understand that some players may have simply made a poor decision, so all players will be given until 5/15/2011 to voluntarily remove the exploited items from their accounts by selling them to an NPC for 0 mesos. If all exploited items are removed in time, you will not be banned (please note that you must remove the items from ALL of your accounts.) Once our investigation is complete and all applicable bans are issued, we will return the items that remain to normal. We hope that most players will do the right thing and remove the items if they know they are exploited.
Seems fair enough, until you realize that all the hackers are going to dump their items and avoid a ban.

Depends on whether you trust Nexon to be able to tell exploited from legit.

Can't make another account "to test it". The scrolls are untradeable now.
And you're welcome for the level.

I dunno. Depends on the amount of chaos scrolls on their account. 100+ chaos scrolls is not a "poor decision." I think the ones that have quite a few chaos scrolls in their inventory will stay banned.
