A-yup. Nexon definitely doesn't consider this exploit worthy of attention. Nevermind rollback, they didn't even have an emergency maintenance to stop it.

**Update** We were able to complete all maintenance tasks sooner than expected and the maintenance has now ended at 2:55 AM Pacific (5:55 AM Eastern.) All game services are now open, thank you for your patience.

It is so far from dying with the revenue Nexon is pulling in that it would be more likely for Bin Laden to resurrect and be killed by the ghost of Mao Zedong (ok far fetched and irrelevant but you get the point) than to have them close. Players aint leaving the game in any greater numbers now than they did 2 years ago.

Did I say anything about their revenue? You're stating this like I'm some kid who don't have any idea about how much money Maplestory brings to Nexon. I was talking more about the "less players" part. My point is: every month is the same in this game. Hackers find an exploit, they break the economy, everyone get rollbacked or they try to ban the hackers which result in some money leaking. Did you ever wondered how did the maplestory economy came to this point? The game is not fun to play anymore, and any intelligent person would get bored of this mondless circle which doesn't bring them anything but hurrr durr rollback
or hurr durr economy. I'm not saying everyone will quit. It's just that nexon is losing the control of this game which make people question themselves with "why the crap do I still play this game". But I agree admitting the game you like is in it's last years can be hard. Maybe Nexon would find a way so there's no more exploits ever but I doubt they'll be able. Sorry.

90% of their revenue is made by 10% of the high level player base. If these 10% quit out of boredom, they don't have anything left. Not to mention the hackers have almost as much power as nexon, which is a big no-no for them (and their revenue). They make loads of money now, but how far can this go until people wake up and realize they've been spending all of this money to keep up with an economy dominated by hackers?

The more screenshots and the more comments you make about the exploit, the more ideas hackers get. For instance a lot of people didn't know you could use arrows or potions instead of equipment such as sandals. When people post a screenshot about using arrows or potions (which saves A LOT of time), the exploit will become worse.

Also i agree 100% with this, the exploit has taken chaos to the value where its not even worth doing anymore. Nexon should just close the fucking servers already before this bullshit gets to far. (not saying it already hasnt)

Ya know... There's usually good and bad in almost every situation.

For me... A relatively noob guy, this exploit has brought down the cost of chaos scrolls.
The bad thing is that yes they prolly wont inflate for a long time.

But I mean... this stuff happens so freakin' often in maple, I just consider it kinda part of the Meta-game.

You're all looking at this wrong! Exploits and hacks have been going around since the beginning of maple, Nexon isn't stupid enough to make the same mistake again.

This was all planned! The sense of nostalgia as the maple weapons come back, and the birthday events come rolling out, shouldn't be limited to just legit players. Nexon was merely sympathizing with the hackers and figured theyd give them something to celebrate too! This exploit is merely the anniversary for the underground part of maple, which is why Nexon has done nothing to stop it, or even acknowledged its existence

Meanwhile having sold my dagger and katara for upwards of 5b total, I'm gonna buy some of these mass produced pinks and make a perfect pyrope pair..99 atk katara anyone?
