Attack Arrows + Soul Arrow
#1
Yah yah I know this is an old question that's been repeated many times, but just recently i was talking to a friend about the new arrows and bullets that come with chaos and i told him attack from regular arrows doesn't stack with soul arrow, that it is glitched, to which he said it was fixed and now they do...

sooooo, is it indeed fixed? do attack arrows + soul arrow work now? Maybe we got it among the aftershock patch.

Thank you.

Or option B) Its intended that they don't stack.

I didn't check the bowman thread because all threads in the training center section were deleted by whatever happened to the forums, so I thought I wouldn't find anything >_<

Excuse my ignorance but I still don't get what is said there. You and joeTang seem to have concluded that they indeed stack, but then there is a bunch of post that either missed your conclusion or got the idea that they don't stack.

do they stack or not?

From what i read it seem that they proved that they do not stack, wherever it was intended or not still remain a mistery.

I supposed he would compare the DoT damage of inferno with diamonds + SA against just SA, so if the DoT dmg was different it would mean that Arrows affect SA? Then he says "twas 8225 without SA." but the picture shows 8108 and it doesn't have SA either. then JoeTang says "
Life sucks. Enjoy crafting 100 arrows per Wisdom/LUK Crystal." as if SA + Arrows now stack, then everybody keeps talking as if they don't.

so yah... I don't get it Rolleyes

The experiment was simple.
I made Lachrymus strip his character down to the point where he couldn't 1-hit Dragon Blue Turtles and I gave him Diamond Arrows. +4 attack.
He used Inferno without Soul Arrow and the DoT was 8225 per second.
He used Inferno again with the same equips but this time with Soul Arrow and the damage was 8108 per second.
Therefore it didn't stack.

He said to enjoy crafting 100 arrows per crystal sarcastically. His meaning was that any Bow Master would have to go through a lot of effort to get some extra damage out of those new arrows because of Hurricane and Final Attack eating up to 16 arrows every second. Also, you realize that DoT from inferno doesn't change after it's already been activated, so whether Soul Arrow was active in the screenshot is irrelivant since it could have been active at the time of using Inferno and then wore off afterward.

You could also go ahead and do the same test if you want to, it shouldn't be that hard unless you have no archer friends.

Crystals are easy to grab after Chaos, aren't they? Besides, having an infinite 10 att source from something you don't use is just stupid, too. Add that as an equip or make arrows rechargeable, but not that, makes no sense.

To be cost effective, it would require that you obtain a Crystal Ore every .85 seconds. Otherwise, you would use arrows faster than you could produce them as a Bow Master at maximum efficiency. Which is to say, if you were to use Normal Attack, you would need to find a Crystal Ore every 7.2 seconds to regain your Arrow count.

Totally feasible and not stupid.

That, or you could opt for the lower leveled arrows. The ores are easy to find and they're easy to craft.
BUT, remember that the system has a fatigue system. Yes, not feasible at all for normal uses, unless for certain occasions like bossing and the such.

Unless you're dirty rich, that is.

This completely made no sense. That's like saying "for every 10 minutes you spend in apq you gotta find 1 onyx apple for apq to be feasible". No, just no, you collect the apples/arrows in preparation to using them not while you're using them. You can take all the time in the world to prepare if you want.

lolwhat?

You don't see the issue of cost versus benefit? The amount of time you're spending versus the amount of gain you are rewarded? How much preparation is worthwhile for the amount of arrows you spend? Of course you collect the apples and arrows in preparation, but the sheer fact that 100 arrows lasts you 8.5 seconds, and costs you 10 Crystal Ores should detail their convenience and cost. You can't take all the time in the world to prepare. There are deadlines. There are time constraints. People will have goals to meet, and things to do. You're basically saying the amount of time required to find an item is completely irrelevant to its worth because time is unlimited, which it obviously is not. Take a look at the market.

You can also only make 3.8k arrows per day if you factor in fatigue, starting from 0 fatigue and using 3 -30 Fatigue Pots, with an additional 100 every hour after you max out fatigue.

Hurricane uses like, 500 arrows a minute right? That's about 5.4 minutes of +9atk arrows and Hurricane per day, each hour gives you another 8.6 seconds of arrows.

Oh, and this assumes you have refined crystals on hand, or maybe a mule to refine, otherwise it's +1 Fatigue for mining, and +1 Fatigue for refining. You need 6 ores (Wisdom or LUK), which is +7 Fatigue total on top of the +5 to make the 9atk arrows. 190 Fatigue/12 is 15.8, so 1500 arrows, since you can't make .8 arrows. Which is 2.14 minutes of using hurricane with final attack, and it takes ~3 hours for you to lose enough fatigue to make 100 more (+8.6 seconds)
