Although the guy whose cliff house I'm living in got a stick up his ass to hollow the area at bedrock, then we hit a cave full of hell on wheels [lava in the walls + spiders and creepers everywhere] and kind of gave up for the time being.

Currently trying to build a ship at a dock on my mine and my girlfriend's server.

Pistons are delayed. 1.6 is a bugfix patch with the addition of craftable maps. He goes over some details in the blog.

He's fucked over the modding community and players in general too much, and he finally hit a nerve; most of the modding community is going to reverse engineer his modding API (i'll get into that) to fix the problem with it: his involvement. Notch made it that the API truly will only support mods he compiles himself. How do you do that? He has to approve of it. His, not Mojang's. Binding licenses are involved, and it leaves it only truly serious modders to take advantage of it. Oh, he can also make your mod official without any signing, too. Most of this goes against the modder's ideals. I don't hate notch, but he certainly isn't quite the idol everyone sees him as.

Just wondering, is it allowed to advertise a good minecraft server here? I'm afraid its not D: But i've been playing for over 350+ hours on this server and its freaking awesome.

"Advertising" in the traditional sense might bend some rules, but saying "Hey, I play here, it's fun because A, B, and C" falls within my interpretation of the rules. If you're concerned about it, I'd PM a mod.

I have to say I agree with you. I've wanted to play with modding, but it seems like such a hastle to start and maintain a mod. I was/am hoping that an API will make entry into modding easier, but this complex system of control Notch is setting up is going to make that hard....

Seriously, if you are trying to find a good server try out http://www.craftland.org I swear you wont ever want another server again. (You have to be whitelisted first)

Minecraft lagged when I was on the edge and therefore I walked too far and fell to lava. Next time I won't keep those good items with me. All that Iron was a pain to find :<.
