Tespia is now OPEN!
Nevermind, found a very good guide on getting past the PIN issue here: http://www.basilmarket.com/forum/1998639...Work.html#

Testing content means testing all content under all circumstances. Bugs can be found when messing around and those are sometimes the most important ones. MW30 is important because we need to be sure it's working as intended in all circumstances.

I agree 100%, although testing involves new content, there has been many instances that already properly working content may encounter problems. While not everyone thoroughly is making every single char and testing every skill, certain things are found simply by chance and on random circumstances.

Lozmaster Wrote:This is probably going to sound a bit mean, but it really irks me when people treat tespia as a place for messing around, personally, I've seen everything worth testing and tried it as extensively as I can (without making a third character, I guess). Kinda throws the whole point of it out the window. Please, please, do not send a bug report asking for it to be added, that kind of crud was what got tespia shut down indefinetly the first time.

No-one needs MW30 though; I suppose there *could* be a glitch to level 21-30 of the skill, but it certainly doesn't need to be given out. If we were testing a high level boss then maybe it'd be different, but this is a hilariously low level patch, and they could have just leveled us to 130 (enough to have skill points in all 4th job skills) and it'd be enough for testing purposes.

I didn't plan to. I also think it may have been meant to be so. I as well have gone through the stuff, and was quite annoyed when trying to finish my puzzle only to discover 3 pieces aren't available till 5/25. Not much we can do with checking what the puzzles give for us with 3/7 of the thing unavailable. And weren't items with +1 to skill (reverse stuff) supposed to be able to break the max level cap? Or do they need CO to give them that boost? I have +1 on every reverse I have and maxed every skill except MW and Hero's Will because I figured I may grab those skills somehow.

As for the question why I'm not on my main, I am. I just like to alternate what I'm using. It gives a decent change in scenery.

Although much of the content has already been tested and delt with on the main server? You would only be finding bugs and glitches nexon already knows about and never get around to dealing with or that were only detected on the main server, i feel the content that is most recent is a good thing to test first and foremost over just messing around out at skeligons and wyverns, since there were no changes to skills or classes the excuse "I'm testing a high level character to find bugs with it's skills" is not enough to waste your time doing that. The new annaversary quests and items should be priority, if you don't at least help test all the aniversary items you can or check to see if the proper anaversary quest rewards are given then tespia would only close down again like it did last time because too many people thought it was ok to mess around.

Apparently you've never played maple after a patch.

The difference between messing around and testing is obvious: report bugs. If you just mess around and never report anything then you're doing it wrong. If you mess around and report bugs along the way then you're doing exactly what you should be. But messing around includes everything, because anything can go wrong during a patch. AS WE'VE SEEN WITH EVERY. PATCH. EVER. IN THE HISTORY OF MAPLE.

Tell that to the borked guild and buddy lists during Big Bang. You never know what new data can do to interfere with old data.

No, it's a server for testing how new content meshes with old content. All content is relevant in the process. Ignoring any piece of content renders the whole process useless.

It wasn't a joke. You're wrong.

Can anyone play tespia? No. Therefore it is private. Did Nexon set it up specifically to test content? Yes. Therefore it is a private server sponsored by Nexon.

I do find it a bit funny though. You're always the one who claims you can argue about XYZ all day / night long, yet you're also the one who doesn't want to at the same time.

Regardless, I think of Tespia as a CBT phase, they're essentially the same thing in every way.

One of the complaints was about maple warrior skillbooks and other class skillbooks, here's the thing......they already WORK on the main server, there is NOTHING wrong with the skillbooks on the main server at all, there's no need to even test weather they work or not, this is what i ment by "already tested and delt with.", but this is the internet, you can't argue with retards on the internet, the'll bring you down to their level and beat you with experience.

As for the buddy list and guild lists? Of course you never know, and no ammount of testing content in tespia will find these problem codes for you, since they only bug things up once they are added to the main server so don't even try to use such an excuse to justify your needing to test anything and everything.

as LozMaster said before, don't worry about testing the bosses or many of the monsters, unless it's the bosses or monsters for the cake event, any other boss or normal mob you do not need to test since they are not bugged or glitched on the main server at all, if people are so concerned with skillbooks from the NPC then you can let nexon know it would be great to add appropriate NPC's that give those skillbooks to future tespia content if that kind of testing is necessary like the cygnus boss.

You don't seem to get it so I honestly have to believe you haven't played Maple after a patch, if ever.

Just because something works pre-patch doesn't mean it will work post-patch. There's a million and one instances of some arbitrary feature going awry for no good reason after new content has been added. Some of that can be caught on the test server, and that's why we need to have every avenue available to us, so we can at least try to prevent bugs from making it into the public servers.

You can't skip steps just because you assume everything will be fine, especially with a game that is coded as poorly as MapleStory is.

Then tell me why guild and buddy lists broke right after Big Bang came out. They obviously worked pre-bb. And what about body boost for BaM? That worked when they first came out too, and then broke after Mechs.

Read the extraction of the Mech patch, Fiel KNEW Body Boost was probally going to be glitched because nexon changed it. If they change any skills any extractor will know.

Just like how we knew how Beholder's Hex with Combat Orders wouldn't cast, or Aura doesn't heal, etc.
