The Dream World: Brief Information/Friend List

UNDER HEAVY CONSTRUCTION

Hello All,

Dream Word is a very nice extension to Pokemon Black and White, allowing various activities every day for 1 consecutive hour every 24 hours as of now (They have stated they might change this limit in the future)

To access the dream world, go to http://www.pokemon-gl.com and register an account. Remember to use the code that your cartridge tells you so your account syncs with your cartridge.

Why Friends are a Good Idea
However, to use Dream World effectively, a person should have several friends to gain points.
Heres a very nice link describing the process of gaining points (toward the bottom of the page)

http://www.serebii.net/blackwhite/dreamworld.shtml

As a person can see, by doing several tasks such as watering your friend's berries and trading items, you gain extra points. Thus, the more friends you have, the more points you can accumulate per day.

Why Points Matter

Quite simply, more points allows you to do more things. Here are the reasons to gain as much points as possible:

1) The more points you have, the more rows you get for your berry garden. Berries are very important. Without berries, you can't play some minigames, you can't make furniture for your dream house, and most importantly, you can't take a pokemon from dream world to your game cartridge.

2) By "gaining 500 points in one dream state, the pokemon will level upon next game sync" (taken from serebii, link in above)

3) Last, and most notably, if you have enough points you gain access to more dream isle areas and different items. These new dream isles contain different pokemon. Here is the list of the pokemon avaible and the points needed to access certain areas:

http://www.serebii.net/blackwhite/dreamworldareas.shtml

Privacy Settings: VERY IMPORTANT

When you first make your account for the dream world site, it will autimatically set your settings to PRIVATE. This will prevent your friends from your pal pad and other people online from being able to get on your island or even friend request you. It is very important to change this setting. Both friends must change this setting in order to see each other.

To change your privacy settings, follow these instructions:

1) Log into the pokemon global link site.

2)Click on Profile button under Pokemon DW (the Profile button has a symbol of the trainer card next to it)

3) Under Location (left side), click on the Privacy Settings.

4) From here a window should pop up, stating Profile and Privacy Settings for Dream World. You will see default is nobody for both options. Now, you must change both settings to the one you want.
So if you only want the friends from your in game pal pad to only access your island, change both options to Just Friends If you want everyone (including random people) to be able to access your island, set it to Everyone for both options. If you want nobody to access your island, then you are in the wrong thread and get out Excellent

Important Note

In order for your friends to appear in your dream world, you must have had at least one contact in the wifi room (center room) That means you can't just add their code in your pal pad and expect to see them. You must either trade or battle them once in order to appear. Also it takes a bit of time for them to show up. Around 24-72 hours. If they don't appear by then, you should both check your account settings and readd each other.

Also, if you made an account on http://www.pokemon.com for the eevee evolution promotion game, you must change those settings as well!. (For some reason the privacy settings are not synched up when both accounts become linked) (thanks for the confirmation ComanderJinn!)

The Dream World Itself

When you first log in, you'll be outside your house. At this screen, you can move either to your right, your left, or into your house. If you click on your house mat, you can see who visited you while you were not on! (You can also go to their dream island and send a dream pal request!) Lets go into the house for now.

Your House

This area helps keeps things in check. First thing to keep note is the little red book on the stand near the doorway. If you click on it, it will show recipes on the furniture you can make. These pieces of furniture require a lot of berries, so be sure to abuse the berry garden!

Also, you will see a trunk near the door. This trunk is where items are placed when found during the dream world. You send the items from dream world to your game via the trunk

Lastly there is the pokemon friend board. Here you can see the pokemon you befriended and what pokemon you sent to your game cartridge.

Important Note It has come to my attention by both ComanderJinn and Serebii forums that there is a limit on how many pokemon you can transfer to game cartridge. The limit is 50 and this is due to the friend board only have 5 pages (each page holds 10 "photos" of the pokemon you sent) The limit was removed on the japanese dream world, but it is currently unknown if and when the international dream world will remove the cap. (taken from serebii) In other words, be careful of what you take till you hear further news! Frown

The Berry Garden
This is very important function of dream world. As mentioned above, berries do many things in the dream world. Also, since unova can't grow berries (they never gave a reason did they?), this is the only way to grow berries in 5th gen games.

Now, you start off with 2 rows, but with more points you gain more rows. I forgot the exact number to get more rows, but I know the max rows you get are 4. (will update once I find the information)

Some berries take longer to grow than others. For example, oran berries grow within 24 hours, so you'll be able to harvest a stack the next day. However, those berries found in the trunk when you first log in the dream world, will take at least 3-4 days. It is important to make friends because they will need to water your berries while you are gone since the soil will become dry (thus slowing the growing process!)

The Trading Post

This is relatively simple. This rack here lets you put one of your items up for trade, and if another person comes in, that person can swap one of their items for the item on the rack. It is a great way to spread the berry love Heart

Dream World: The Isles

This is where you go for the meat of your action!. Now, you must keep in mind that after 10 steps, you will be at the dream tree (the place where you offer your berry to take one pokemon with you to your game cartridge. No matter what way you go, after 10 steps, you will arrive at the tree. When you start out, you will only be able to access one area that will always have the same pokemon and items, but as you accumlate more dream points, more areas (with different pokemon) and different items will show up! Shine Again this link is very useful
http://www.serebii.net/blackwhite/dreamworldareas.shtml

As of now, the minigames you can play on the first dream isle include ice cream scoop, pellipers flight, and hide n seek ( sky or undersea version). Keep in mind that in order to play ice cream scoop minigame, you will need to offer a berry first. The other two games do not require a berry.

After 10 steps, you will be at the dream tree, where you have two options. You can offer a berry to take one pokemon with you to your game cartridge, or you can return home without taking any pokemon. If you choose the first option, you will not be able to enter the dream isle again till the next day (and until you take the pokemon with you by waking up your pokemon!) If you choose to return home, you can re enter dream isle. You can keep re entering it until either you take a pokemon or until the 1 hour limit is up.

Yea I was thinking that while typing this, but I think two lists would have been nice since not everyone wants to do dream world (Or just doesn't have access to it, which sucks for them =/)

Pmed Derosis about it. Waiting on what he says.

If he agrees to incorporate dream world ID then I'll change my thread around to a Dream World Information thread only. This will give me extra space to give much more in depth detail on how dream world functions. Serebii seems to leave out some issues that others have found =3 I would just need to change the thread title later if it comes to that. Any idea on how? xD (I think I have to PM a moderator don't I?...)

Did you make sure your friends also set their privacy settings correctly? If they did, then try readding each others FC and intereact with each other over WiFi, then wait at least 72 hours.

Lol I can't really call my little thing a chart haha.

I organized it as

Forum ID: PGL Name - In game Name (the name they use while playing black/ white) - FC

But yea for the rest of you guys, changing this thread to information only about dream world. This will let me get much more in depth.

Ok, just got this back from the customer service

Quote:Hello Trainer!

We see that you have some questions regarding Dream Pals vs. Game Pals.

Dream Pals are people you can meet and communicate with in the Pokémon Dream World and only the Dream World.

At this time, there is no available search function for find Game Pals in the Dream World. However, we know this is a popular request and we have reviewed and recorded each one to pass along! Keep in mind, though, multiple requests will not help expedite these requests, but your enthusiasm is appreciated.

When you visit your Dream World Map, you will see your current Dream Pals as well as a possible random Dream Pal house to visit.

To make Dream Pals, your privacy setting needs to be set to "Everyone." Please ensure this is set appropriately by visiting Pokemon.com for your Pokémon Trainer Club account, and click the "Edit Profile" tab.

We hope this clears up your questions! If you have any other questions or comments regarding this inquiry, please feel free to update this ticket.

Thank you for your support during this exciting time at Pokemon!

Sincerely,

Pokemon Support Team

Lol nice they respond =P Or least the robot responds...

But yea, noted above in thread now. Already knew there wasn't a search function, and just read on serebii that you need to set privacy on your trainer account. I'll still give you credit for it for taking the initiative by messaging them =P

Sorry about the mess up on top. I'm worried I might run out of space, so I'm coordinating on what is most important to talk about.

I'd just like to mention that the original question was why my pal pad friends weren't showing up in dream pals.

I was pretty sure they were kept separate at all times o.o Pal Pad was those met in game while dream pals were only met online via dream world. I believe there two separate just to keep it in order.

EDIT: I'll work on this later guys, gotta work on a presentation for college =3
