What razor do you use to shave?

When I first started shaving, I used this electric trimmer, since well... I didn't really need to shave. lol

On this past Christmas, my mom gave me a real razor. It had interchangable heads and it was the first time I actually used a real razor. Unfortunately, this also meant that the razor sucked. It took 5 or more strokes, pressing really hard against my face, to get even one hair off. This made my face all red, it cut up my face and it felt like I was rubbing sandpaper against my face to get the hair off. x_x I'd rub my hand against my face afterward and still feel a lot of hair, almost like I didn't shave at all. When I looked closely in the mirror, I could still see a ton of hairs the thing missed, but when I tried going over them again, I couldn't get them off, no matter how hard or how many times I dragged that razor across my face.

Because of that, I haven't been shaving for a month or more. Yesterday, my dad decided to help me out. He went out and bought these Mach 3 disposable razors. He said that even with his extremely thick beard, these lasted him up to 6 months individually.

Today, before I jumped in the shower, I decided to give it a try. Holy f'ucking sh'it. This is amazing. One stroke, while BARELY brushing the razor across my face, took off every single hair on my sideburns. My face is smoother than it has been for a very long time. Even rubbing my fingers across my face against the grain results in nothing but smoothness. I feel no hair whatsoever. I feel like I'm 15 again. lmao


My shaving time from that razor my mom bought me and the razors my dad bought me went from around 1 hour to less than 5 minutes.

Mothers will normally buy you normal razors that are used for legs and stuff.
Your face needs some more HORSE POWER on those blades, I use one with 3 blades too (probably the same as you) and it works pretty nicely.

I personally haven't tried any, but I'll prefer the old fashioned way. A good ole' Gilette and some facial scars about which I can make up heroic battle stories to tell kids later on.

Disposable blue ones. I prefer the ones that have a little soap bar (less bleeding involved).

Also, a single razor for six months? I assume he doesn't shave everyday. A single razor lasts me about a month at most (and that's pushing it).

i have a bare minimum razor and i shave with water in the shower. constant water > shaving cream. I don't have platypus facial hair either.

I've always used an electric razor because it takes me all of 2-3 minutes and does the job. Yay for not having much in the way of facial hair.

NEVER use plastic disposable blades... omg they're terrible. I can't understand how anyone uses those piles of garbage. They don't cut well, and when they do cut they slice into skin.

I would love to say I use a straight blade, but I'm not that confident, although I'll get them done when I can. Mostly use dual, preferably triple, blade disposables, not singles because I like my face the way it is... whole. Gillette CP3 Oddly, I've noticed whether you're buying heads or the whole disposable razor the price is similiar per blade (Mach 3s).

Not-so-unrelated-fact, facial hair compares to copper of the same thickness in terms of cutting.

Not really. I learned alone how to use them from what I thought was the right way and never cut myself.

Hmm, sunday was the first time I shaved with cream. I have to say I don't have much facial hair and it's not very thick.
It definately makes it easier to shave though (and more refreshing).

I shave about once a week, maybe a bit more often. I just don't have much facial hair and I'm okay with it while it's not too long.

Gillette Mach 3 here. Also, if you grow quite some hair, USE CREAM DAMMIT. It's so much better and your face feels smooth like a baby's ass later.

Hot water makes shaving easier too.

And about the cuts... you get used to it. Been shaving for half of my life with disposable blades, so I don't even feel pain from the cuts anymore. -_-;

I have never used a electric razor. My buddy who does, whenever I shave, runs his hands across my face and always remarks, "Man, you get so much of a closer shave than I ever do."

I shave top to bottom for my sideburns/cheeks/chin/upper lip, but I shave bottom to top on the bottom of my chin and neck.
