Is this pokemon legitimate?
#1
So I was on GTS negotiations and I traded for a level 100 shiny Meganium, what got me curious is that it was caught in a masterball. The description says it came from Hoenn arrived at level 100 after a long travel through time. The stats pretty much look legit but I'm not fond of hacked pokemon so, anyone have an idea? Hurt

GTS checks for hacked stats and abilities, not really anything else. There's no real wau to tell without dumping the .pkm file and running a legit checker on it. Even then, Pokemon that are hacked really well will slip pass.

What are you trading it for? GTS is filled with hacks, so most likely.

I'm not sure if you can catch a Megamium/Chikorita in the wild in Hoenn, though, so I'm pretty sure it's hacked.

I could be very well wrong as I don't play the games that much.

The fact you got a starter pokemon in a non-basic pokeball should be prime evidence for it's legality.

I misread it as Mismagius while skimming through. But then I realized you can't get a Misdreavus in Hoenn anyway. So yeah, hacked.

If you really want a shiny Meganium you could just soft reset Heart Gold/Soul Silver. You gotta look up where to save though and it will take a day (or two if you're unlucky or are slow).

Yes I noticed that however I wasn't sure because I never played the old games and thought maybe you could have catched them there.

Anyways thanks for the replies guys, I think I'll just trade it for another decent Pokemon.

coulda been action replay-d. Not really haxed if you catch it with a masterball then use a code to make the pokemon shiny. Still haxed to get it though.

If anything, you can make a perfectly legitimate looking shiny meganium by using an editor. Dunno why they put it in a masterball though o_O

Because it's obviously a hack.

Prime rule of GTS: Never trust the legitimacy of anything you get from GTS. No joke.

I remember if you completed the Hoenn dex in Emerald, you could get a johto starter.

Masterball is suspicious as hell though.

Unless you could choose which ball the starter pokemon was in after you finished the Nation dex and obtained it, it looks hacked. Should be in a poke ball.
