I got denied by MIT. No biggie, not even in my top 5 choices. Still kinda hurts to read the "good luck with your future endeavors, but you're not good enough for us" generic rejection letter though. Still waiting on 7 other schools to get back to me. Gah, March needs to go by faster!

Gah, March needs to go by faster! I feel for ya man. :\ Additional acceptances: American University (just today), UC Santa Cruz (decisions released at 12:00AM 3/15/11) Rejections: UW-Madison (really saddened), UCLA (somewhat expected)

Dan, I saw what you posted on my profile page, and I'll keep that in mind. ![]() But in a sense, I feel very uncertain right now. I feel like my high school past (academics) has arisen to come and taunt me during this time, and its not fun. I feel like a bombshell has been thrown my way.

Gah, March needs to go by faster! Same here. I was really disappointed, even though I knew I had no chance of getting in, and the people cheering me up were kind of irritating. My friend got waitlisted though, sorta jealous, but she does take school and stuff more seriously than I do. Got accepted to Case Western Reserve the day before and they're offering $17.5k out of $37.7k a year. I should've applied to more realistic universities. So much regret.

If you ever get around to applying for grad school in about 4 years from now, I'm sure you'll take this lesson to heart. No worries. ![]() I got rejected from University of California-San Diego today. I admit it was "somewhat expected/10", but I'm still waiting for the worst to come. :\ On a more optimistic note: I looked over the schools which gave me decent scholarship offers, and I realized that the tuition that I have to pay - factoring in the scholarships - is much lower than the tuition I have to pay for schools here in my state. Hm....

If I remember right, you've been accepted into a majority of the schools that you applied to. I get the impression that you're a bright kid, yet it doesn't seem like you think so yourself? In the end, you'll end up where you're meant to be. Focus more on those who want you, rather than those who don't. EDIT: Was sort of ninja'd already, but oh well. Sometimes you have to hear something more than once.

I have no clue how I am going to make my decision. I'm overwhelmed and stressed out because I have a little over a month to decide the next 4 years of my life.

Got rejected from UC Davis and San Diego. But, I got waitlisted to UC Santa Barbara and Irvine. Does anyone know what my chances are to get accepted on a waitlist? :x
I'm out of options in California if I don't get accepted to either school.

Since you're on a waitlist, and if you really want to attend that school, I would try to write letters to the school's Admissions Office (or something along those lines) indicating your interest in attending. Updates: - Rejected from USC (today) - Rejected from UC Irvine (Tuesday) - Waitlisted from UC Santa Barbara (Monday) - Rejected from UC Davis (today) - Rejected from UC Berkeley (today, somewhat expected) I'm so screwed. Really, really f'ucked now. My fears have come to fruition. At this moment, nothing can describe how sad this shi't is.
