In Korea everyone starts out at 1 year old because it's the first calendar year. Also, everyone in the country gets one year older on January 1st. They have birthdays like we do, but they're not as celebrated and are not used to factor in legal age. So a child could be born on December 30th and become 2 years old two days later.

I remember reading somewhere that when they're born, they're considered to be 1 year old. Or something like that. No idea why his "Korean age" is two more than the other age given, though.

In Korea, and China, when you are born you are 1.
Also, I believe Korea counts their age by use of the Lunar Calender? Not exactly sure, but I just know KR.AGE=US.AGE + 2
