Has anyone tried playing a handheld without a backlight recently? Literally have to position yourself directly under the sun in order to see anything on it.

Which is why I gave up on trying to play my old GBC. Not to mention the buttons stuck.

Yeah, tried to get the berry glitch fix from Colosseum and XD to Sapphire. Needed to use my GBA for that. I could barely see anything AND the patch didn't transfer. -.-

Why do people get super-excited over Mario? I mean it's very predictable what is about to happened.
  1. You play as the same old plumber.
  2. Somebody steals Peach, your love, away.
  3. You then have to go through ~8 worlds to rescue her.
  4. There are certain power-ups to help you with this task.
  5. You continue to catch up to her only to have to go through another world.
  6. Eventually, you reach the final battle.
  7. You defeat the boss.
  8. You save Peach and get a kiss.

I mean it's sooo predictable. I'm not hating on this. I'm just curious why people still buy this games despite their uber-predictability.

Really, why does anyone buy a sequel of anything? They enjoyed the first game and want to experience it again - except, they don't want the EXACT same game. Thus why sequels come out. They usually make minor changes and improvements from game to game.

I'm going to be the srs post person.

Pokemon is a series that's familiar with both young and old gamers now. The game is pretty much built on interacting with others with it. Add on the recent online features and you end up wanting the game JUST to play it with friends near and far. All the different pokemon makes every person you play against feel unique too.

I'm pretty sure the hype isn't really coming from the game, but the people everyone wants to play it with. Unlike a fighting game where everyone who plays a certain character pretty much HAS to fight a certain way to be good, pokemon allows for so much more individualism just through sheer number of pokemon and their decent movepools that everyone you play against feels unique. Not to mention the luck factor is there yet not so much that it overpowers strategy... unless you get double team spammers.

As for the core game itself, I dunno, even though I gotta get 8 badges eventually, I actually feel more freedom than most RPGs. That process of learning pokemon and knowing their types by heart and eventually their movesets gets addictive too.

Each new version just expands the opportunity to be unique and see more builds. Its basically captured whats addictive about card games without being a card game...

There are certain things that I should applaud them for.
  1. Totally new Pokemon.
  2. Badass designs.
  3. Real evil villains.
  4. NO Pikachu.
  5. HOT chicks in-game.

I want a pokemon game that is like that "TALK PIKACHU" or whatever. Where you actually do more than turn base attacks, where all the regions are open'd too you, and theres blood and all types of gore.

RATED M FOR MADE FOR ADULTS.

Oh and porn.

Cuz the joy of capturing a little friendly creature who has incredible destructive abilities is quite fun.
