Whose internet service doesn't suck?
#1
Here in NJ my family pays a lot for Cablevision's package. Between the clunky TV service, awful customer support, and sporadic internet service, I just want to know if anyone (preferable someone from around the tri-state area) has any suggestions as to which company we can jump ship to.

The link above is a Southperry SpeedTest Wave I just set up. Hopefully makes things neater.

Slightly North, but I thought people only complained about Comcast.
Honestly, I want to see if Verizon's FiOS is all it's cracked up to be.

Comcast has a moderate monopoly imo over Internet in the US, they've taken over alot of the smaller ISPs and a lot of America doesn't really have a choice of ISP aside from Comcast vs ATT to my knowledge.

I don't understand why they haven't learned from Asian ISPs, our speeds are so bad compared to Japan/S.Korea.

You have Verizon FiOS in the area?

YES! I have worst upload speed. ^__^

Yeah, I'm really disappointed with my ISP, and we pay quite a bit IIRC.

Oh lol. So far the 2 other northeasterners who have taken the speedtest are at the very bottom.
There is no hope for us.

Cox doesn't necessarily suck, but sometimes... the internet quality is piss-poor. My dad pays for 50 Megabits per second (that's still pretty low compared to some other ISPs or other internet services in other countries), but quite a lot of time, we have speeds like this (and sometimes, even far worse) :

Look at their pings. They must be directly connected to an ISP server or something..

Anyway http://www.speedtest.net/result/1189680833.png This is me on wireless.

Mine is okay. Gets the job done. I have a strong new desktop that I do nothing but Maplestory/World of Warcraft on, I don't go on the internet or anything with it. So that helps.

And F3 shouri my school's internet is weaker than my one at home, it's sad.

Edit: But yeah I'm in New York, really close to you.

My internet was okay the first month, I think we switched a few months ago. Now it just randomly shuts down.
I'm okay with the speed though, it's no big deal for me.

Don't you guys wish you could be a part of the FiOS master race?

OF COURSE YOU DON'T, YOU SIMPLETONS. YOU WOULD NOT EVEN KNOW HOW TO HANDLE THE INTERNET, DOWNLOADING AND UPLOADING AT SPEEDS THAT ARE EVEN HALF AS QUICK AS MINE
