How much exp are these things supposed to give? I just killed one and it gave me 150. Does it have to do with my level?

Yes. But they show up in every place with patches of grass, just go to the Route with the highest level Pokemon so far.

Yes. Higher level -> less EXP on lower leveled Pokemon, apparently

I killed an Audino back around the 1st gym and it gave me 700 something exp.

Jesus. Archen is beast. No wonder it has a hindering ability. I just got this thing at lv25 and it's already destroying everything.

Let me just say, Archen is AMAZING. He can take down any Pokemon so far with one Pluck, sometimes 2 for harder Pokemon..
And only once did his HP drop below 50% and I didn't realize ._.

I suppose I can just forget about Overheat.. settle with Inferno.. and just level Lampent to Level 53 to learn Shadow Ball, then evolve him~

Why bother? Just use the TM for Shadow Ball, I'm sure it'll be someplace earlier than when he hits Level 53.

I sorta like playing the game without using TMs. Dunno, I feel TMs are cheap and make the game too easy..
Like the Anime, I feel Pokemon should upgrade their moves and learn better/new moves as they level up and progress :3

No it hasn't. I buy at least two new release DS games a month and this is the first one that has had that.

I love Chandelure.. aside from being Ghost/Fire <3 he looks just too awesome..
But check Serebii, when you evolve Lampent, Chandelure learns NO MORE MOVES
And if I keep Lampent until he learns all his moves.. then that's Overheat at level 69.. THAT'S SO FAR AWAY, and I'll most likely complete the game by then :/

Well, Shadow Ball and Overheat are both TM moves that Chandelure can learn at any level. You get Shadow Ball in the Relic Castle and Overheat a while later (but surely earlier then getting a Lampent to level 69). So unless you really care about knowing Pain Split or Curse (Curse is level 43, so you could just hold off evolving with the Dusk Stone until then), you could evolve into Chandelure right away.

EDIT: Anyways, here's my team after day one. Haven't yet faced the second gym leader yet.

Purrloin will probably be replaced in the near future, not sure with what though. Pansear will be replaced by Victini which will be replaced by Litwick. I'm digging Blitzle and Lillipup - not sure if they're going to be permanent, but I'll hang onto them for now. I'm still fiddling with Pidove - not sure about it either.

EDIT2: Just finished this post and found my first Audino. I went ahead and caught it for my PokeDex, but yea. :/

I plan on catching that Ice Cream thing as soon as I get to the cold storage.

Like I said in the other thread, I went and picked up my reserved copies of Black and White and gave White to my friend for his birthday. We rushed home and immediately started.

Had a semi-hard time deciding which starter to go with and eventually settled with Oshawott, while he went with Tepig.

Currently I'm right outside Pinwheel Forest after have beaten the second Gym Leader, grinding up my Pokemon. I usually save "catching 'em all" until after I beat the E4, so I only have like 5 or 6 Pokemon currently.

Team currently:

- Shellmurai - Level 21
- Brutlee - Level 20
- Chimpyro - Level 17
- Drilbella - Level 11 (trying to decide whether or not to keep this one)

Other Pokemon I have caught up to this point include Patrat (for HM01) and Audino (since it's "rare"-ish).

Loving this game so far, definitely.
