be happy nexon is giving something in return, even you would abuse the glitch, nexon just could be like:
"in our records we could track that almost everyone abused the glitch, even the so called "legit" players took advantage of the glitch, because of this, we decided to not compensate anyone because of what you, players, did,

happy mapling"

I didn't take advantage of it because of how Nexon has reacted in the past. It's not worth risking a hellban over a few hundred millions of mesos but maybe I'm in the minority when I look at that sum of mesos and just say eh.

I just find it somewhat discomforting that they go through the trouble of telling us thanks for bringing the item to their attention so quickly so they could stop this before it got out of hand. Yet if we had waited longer we would have faced a longer rollback and thus would be more likely to receive the compensation they have made it a norm to pass out.

Kind of shooting themselves in the foot.

If they don't want to dish out virtual cash (I'm sure they have a ratio of free mps and what it costs them in real dollars and I'm positive it's not 1:1) then they need to work harder on clamping down on these issues when they occur. Act swiftly and don't give mp, I'm cool with that. Saying you won't give free mp because people have faced enough situations like this from your company that they know what to do to capitalize on it and I say run your game better so you aren't put in the situation repeatedly to begin with or come up with better compensation. Free mp was always a pretty lame compensation in my eyes anyway, very unimaginative, but then again that's how I feel about 2x as well. At least they aren't actually profiting off their mistakes by selling loads of 2x cards whenever they mess up and give 2x events anymore. I want it to hurt them when they screw up, that's the only way they'll have motivation to get better.

Seeing how anti-Nexon that was I do wanna say they took the game down in a timely manner and I don't feel like we should get mp, just not for the same reason -Hime- listed. Take care of business, don't whine about how kids have figured out your M.O. when it comes to handling pineapple ups ingame.

Assumed 2x this weekend.

I don't think they should compensate anyone. This may have been an oversight on their part we should assume that they really wanted to give us a 75% discount on potions for a limited time, and then a bunch of scumbags caught wind of the resale price being worth more so they abused the hell out of it. Yes, some people suffered but this didn't take place during a highly active time of the day (for North Americans) and a LOT of people abused it. People shouldn't continue to be rewarded in anyway, be it 2x or maple points, for exploiting a situation. Nexon needs to take an army approach and say "Hey, we can't help you. Thank your fellow players for your loss" and turn the hatred toward everyone who abuses glitches. People will hate Nexon either way, at least this way they can dilute that a little while also making it clear that exploitation won't be rewarded.

I think if they wanted to give any kind of extreme discount for a limited time they should have had the hindsight to apply the price drop to both sale and resale price, otherwise OF COURSE people would abuse it. Of course i don't care what they do since i was only on in case they actually did give maple points. I've lost nothing therefore i expect nothing. Doesn't change things either way.

Yuh.
"Hey, we had a bug that most users abused so we had to take the game down to fix it. Don't worry though, you'll all get compensation because of the downtime, even though most of you abused the glitch."

Edit: Disregard.

people like you destroy the game. Really wish everyone who abused that glitch get perma ban, but knowing nexon, only a few, maybe no one will be banned.

I gave up on maplestory after I got hacked this time. It isn't my first time, and I bounce back knowing it's my fault. This time though, it wasn't, and I won't get any compensation, any help, or really anything, concerning it. My items are name tagged and being extorted on me for $500 per item, which accumulate to about 5 grand-ish.

It's a shame the best game they offer because of its simplicity is the most neglected as they assume everyone who plays it is stupid. That isn't because of solely age, but frankly, because of the garbage threads that appear on their website.

It's the only way to compete with hackers these days haha, nexon destroyed their own game it wasn't me.

good way to think, eh, if we can't fight against them, lets join them.

well, don't really care about what happens on maple, moved to a better game with a better community anyway.

You joined em too, Maikon. Remember your bestfriends SirDCs and DoezX?
And I seen you on 2 days ago.

@Eos, I think by "the best game", he really meant the most popular. I think anyways..

The only game i MIGHT put above maple is dragon nest but obviously i've yet to try it and it's systems. Never gave mabi a chance because it was too graphic intensive when i tried to play. DFO got boring really fast because playing alone isn't fun. Poptag...LOL.
