Interview with "Most Hated" MapleStory GM
#21
Takebacker Wrote:I never really saw the problem with that anyway. All the monsters there are too weak to kill anyone who isn't over level 30 or so and if they died there the exp loss wouldn't make that big a difference anyway. Not to mention that aside from the crystal boars and indigo eyes, you respawn on the snails level. O_o
Nub 2x goes in at 95%, wondering what's beyond.
He dies repeatedly and loses all of his EXP (I have actually witnessed this before.)

Besides that return to towns don't work there, which is quite inconvenient.

The interview was pretty laughable in my opinion. He barely touches on why no one likes him, and doesn't even pretend he's going to do a better job. Whoever the interviewer was didn't even put effort into the questions(which might not be his fault, because maybe NEXON only allowed the interview if they "approved the questions").

I just hope he spends minimal time in Broa.

The "most hated" he's talking about actually refers to how he thinks that actual hackers trying to appeal their bans hate him. I think he puts way too much trust in that autoban system and immediately thinks anyone caught by it is a hacker who tries to appeal the ban by claiming it was a mistake. >_>

Mystic Door also has an interesting effect: You go in the door, you come out the exact same door.

Of course, that might have changed, I don't exactly have a priest I can test that with.

He doesnt seem so bad, why is he the most hated?
Also unless you did something illegal, you have nothing to fear, I doubt he'd ban you for no reason.

That is, unless you somehow got banned because NEXON decided to mess with you with their FAILURE of an autoban system, and when you try to ticket to petition getting caught by the autoban, him or another GM decides to send you a "You got caught fair and square, so too bad" auto-generated message. they arent though. they can maintain the servers. the hackers are hard to stop, because even the simplest noob can use them.

we cant tell what they can do.
we dont know what goes on in that mysterious building. we just dont know.

so you make up some stuff to fit it to make nexon look like 100% complete retards

Lol?

First off, I'm not just "one of the believers that Nexon is 100% incompetent." You literally have no grounds to justify that stereotype, and I was not even knocking Nexon as a whole. If you read my post, I was stating my dislike for GMs. Nexon can be pretty dang stupid, yeah. But they aren't terrible. They've managed to keep MS alive and growing well. If they were "100% incompetent," MS would be in complete ruins and totally unplayable. Obviously it isn't. No duh, now how about we look at the actual point behind my post - since you seem to have missed that.

You obviously don't know much about MS or you've simply never reached a point to realize the basic facts of what's happened to MS. All the pathetic "noobs" using hacks don't know crap other than how to get them working. They Google'd and went and had their fun. You really think hacks are hard to stop because of idiots like that? Give me a break. Nexon and even their GMs have no trouble with them. They get banned left and right, they get their silly little hacks patched time and time again, etc etc. Their effect on MS is so minimal that it's almost embarrassing. They're the little flies that annoy you for a bit, and then get squashed with little trouble.

It's the people writing up the serious hacks and unleashing them upon MS that are hard to stop. They're the ones causing problems. They're the ones leaving their mark on MS. There may not be near as many of them, and they may not even be around all that long, but when they get their hack into MS, we feel its effects indefinitely.

The guild hacking incident took down almost every guild of any notability, causing countless problems, countless amounts of wasted meso, time and pride. Almost all of those guilds had put so much work into building their group...and it was thrown away in a matter of seconds. GMs couldn't stop this. GMs did nothing to aid their loyal players. GMs are so lax they didn't even consider such a thing could actually happen.

The duping incident literally destroyed our economy and changed it in the worst possible way, most likely forever. People showed their pathetic true nature and caused as much chaos as they could, taking advantage of hurting others for their own amusement. Drama unfolded like MS had never before seen. Friends turned on each other over things as simple as equips. Distrust, confusion and a lack of pride in the game was at an all-time high. GMs couldn't stop this. GMs did nothing to aid their loyal players. GMs still do not even realize most of this even happened, nor do they care.

There's been more incidents than just those, with similar horrible, lasting effects on MS. Disconnecting hacks are still a serious problem, and GMs aren't hunting the players taking advantage of them - which would be so easy to do if they really cared. Why not watch out for and help HT/Zak groups? Why not pay some attention to the FM? Why not listen to their players when they tell them who are doing such things? Because they don't care. They don't want to spend the time and effort it would take to truly make a difference in MS. Yeah, it would take time and effort...but isn't that their job? I'm not asking for a 24/7 GM that makes it their life goal to perfect MS; I'm just asking for some GMs that actually care about the game. It wouldn't be hard to spend a little extra time trying to target the real problems.

GMs do not care what the players have to say, and they hardly even pretend to listen. It's become quite obvious through their horrible support. They believe the autoban system is full-proof: If you get banned by it, you deserved it! Bad cheaters! But wait, if they'd just listen to some of the people that try contacting them about a problem, they'd realize the autoban system falsely bans many people due to glitches in the game. There's plenty of proof to support this, but a ban's a ban. Suckers! Heck, most of the time you won't even get a response. And if you do, you can almost expect it to be drone and copied from a template - if not automated completely. You tell me how that's caring for their loyal players and the game in general. Please.

I may not know "what goes on there," but I certainly do know what's right before my eyes. Through their actions (and lack thereof), we only see that the GMs do not care about their loyal players and this game. They aren't willing to spend the time it would take to make a difference, because they feel banning the maggots, plus their nifty autoban, is enough to make MS a better place! They aren't going to listen to the serious problems, because we're obviously making those up. Such serious problems would never happen on their watch! Interviews like this only make it that much more clear how much of a joke GMs are. And until I see some people that truly make efforts at caring for their players and game, I have every right to hate GMs.

It's admirable of you to try and defend Nexon, but please, don't belittle me when you can't even comprehend what I am saying and what is going on.

Seems arrogant to me.

This made me lol:

4. Where do you fit in with the ban-appealing process and how does this affect your status?

Well. I am the judge, jury and executioner.
I get to read the players' request for removing a ban. We look at the evidence we've collected against a player and then we start the appeal process. The process can affect me a little bit. Come on, no one grows up wanting to be the most-hated GM. But then I realize I'm just doing my job and I'm happy to do it.

Didnt we find out a few millenia ago that that doesnt work?

To the poster before me: 90% of people that have filed a ticket know who Vector is. He may not be a bot, but he sure as hell has copypasta scripts that he uses.

Well that explains why I've never seen him... when I click to view my closed tickets, the Nexon website logs me out automaticallyTongue

I've never heard of Vector but I see why now. XD I've never had to file a ticket...~

And it sounds like a load of BS, but Nexon is just like a really controlling government. What do you expect? Censorship is pretty common with them....

GMVector is one of the primary responders to tickets. We all know how much everyone hates ticket responses so I can see why he'd say that.

Back then the autoban didn't exist and hackers were rampant. You can even find two hackers ksing each other at vikings and other maps. That's how bad it was "back then". I can safely say that the hacker situation these days has been resolved for the most part.
