Don't lock a thread before it derails into trolling/drama/etc. Wait for it to derail, then warn the people inside, then finally close if it can't be helped.
Closing without warning or reasoning is not educative.

I agree with both points, but sometimes some funhouse threads get closed for....seemingly no reason at all. No rules broken / bended , no borderline material posted, etc. at all. I just don't understand mang. Unless it's the thread creator doing it.

Wow guys, wow. I go out for a walk to enjoy this nice weather and I see a parody of a parody thread I made is locked? Wow. Hell, I asked XTOT about it before I made it, and Cactuar (being a fellow MSPA reader and member of their forums) should have been aware of the very thread mine was a parody of.

Thread was a joke, busting Zelkova's balls cuz we is pals like that as he's busted mine before.
