Id like to say that I have someone with all of those aspects... At least, I believe I do.
I just had to wait a while.
The chances of a relationship ending in America are incredibly high, and even higher the younger the couple is.

God damn that's such a negative attitude.
Even if it isn't meant to last you still have fun while you can and enjoy the time spent with that person. If you're lucky you can remain friends, and depending on your views you could be even luckier/unlucky and stay as FwB.

Well it certainly isn't the reputation system, or it'd be green or grey, and instead of unicode symbols, they'd be rounded rectangles. Though if it serves for a tally of some sort the mystery is intriguing.

Speaking of negative.
Friends with benefits is great if you're a college frat loser.

Eh. I've only experience seeing this in others. For some, a f'uck-buddy is fine as long as both parties are aware and only interested in that one thing. Girl I met online had several. (No I was not one of them, she thought my being bald was a huge turn-off. We've not spoken for a while now) Of them only one was there any emotional confusion as he was an ex of hers that she thought could be rekindled. So much as I was aware they never investigated rekindling anything, but it's been a while.
So, it's a mixed thing. If you know you won't have any emotional attachment to the person a f'uck buddy does sound awesome. but there's just as many risks involved.

@Mute: Your right about living life and having fun in the now and not worrying about relationship stats.
But FwB type stuff is what's causing relationships to fail. No one takes them seriously.

Well I never did say they were perfect, just they can work. What I've seen is conflict of interests. One party wants more than just sex, the other wants just that. It causes tension between them and it carries over into their friends and drama ensues.
Alternatively, people go into a relationship for sex, and when it leads to more serious stuff then things fall apart. I'd go on this long diatribe about teen pregnancy, the decay of moral values in current society, but that'd make me seem pompous and other things I'm not other than an observant person. Suffice so say, love exists, but like diamonds it takes a while to make it brilliant.

The problem is you're looking for someone that really doesn't exist. You may not think you're asking for too much, because those are values most people look for, but really it sounds nice and someone may promise you that they can fulfill those roles, but they can't.
One problem with relationships is that they're hard to read. You want to be serious, so you take caution with who you actually get with. If you get with someone, you want to trust them completely, but if you do that you're just asking to get walked over and crushed. Because of this, you have slight distrust, which also just leads to an end because your doubt will bring about arguments that will eventually lead to the (sometimes slow and torturous) end of the relationship.
You can't trust your partner, and you can't distrust them. It's because they're another human with a will of their own, and while that certainly isn't a bad thing, it makes for a rough road. When you start arguing over insignificant stuff that you'd normally not care for in the past (and wouldn't care about if any other person did the same thing), you already know you're caught in the trap that usually just snowballs until you can't stand each other.

As in, when you're at the age where the partners your in your age group will just settle for what they can get and stay because their chances of finding better are lowered by that point. By then it'll be just the same as finding a partner years before, but they'll just be less inclined to leave the relationship. By then they'll learn to just accept it, even if they don't like it.
In other words, it'll pretty much just be a mask anyway, in most cases.

Love is one of those things that you only find if you don't look for it.

I dunno... I feel like if you keep trying you'll find the perfect one eventually, and I don't think standards should be lowered to find love faster. *shrugs*

I guess... My mom got married off of Eharmony though. They're in love and happy too. Pretty weird.

That is strange. Now you can tell your future kids how you came into this world (in a fun way).

Oh yes, believe me, I don't think standards should be lowered as well; which is one of the reasons why I'd never enter a relationship because my standards are impossible for anyone to reach, and I'm not lowering them for anyone. But realistically, most people have to if they want to get in a relationship.

But also look at it from their perspective, if your standards of them are high, surely, their standards of you must also be high, so you would also have to live up to their expectations. So you're right, it'd be pretty impossible and you'd both have to be near top-tier quality in terms of looks and personality.
I used to have pretty high standards, but I didn't see the point in that mostly because a person that's "perfect" in my mind will never exist. You can try to shape your significant other to be like that, but that's just awkward. Everybody has flaws. Then again, I also don't have an extremely low standard. As long as the other person is willing to meet up to my expectations (kicking my ass if I'm being a d`ick, common interests, stay in shape, and telling me when I am wrong and hopefully correcting me), I'd be satisfied.
