Discussion on Mechanics DPM and how to calculate them.
#1
Case 1: Mechanics at horntail.

Ok this is a youtube video of a mechanics at horntail.

He basically used laser at that spot and hit 3 heads, 1 wing, 2 arms.

So how do we calculate the dps for this beast?

I am not sure if we count in satellites, he was basically spamming lasers.

Case 2: Mechanics at zak

Laser 8 arms

Siege Mode at body?

Case 3: Mechanics at bodyguards

Siege Mode all the way???

Question:

When does 1v1 dps really matters?

On bosses like pb, bgs, ks wars like anego, pianus, castellan

For other bosses with more than 2 targets, laser sure can mob better.

What then is the best combination of attack during 1v1 ? Those summons and robots are screwing my calculations.

Siege Mode and ??

On a side note, I would really love to see a czak or ht solo by a mechanics to see the best combination to deal damage.

However despite my best attempts at google ,youtube, msn, and yahoo.

The search was futile at best.

Lol this should have gone to Game Mechanics or Maple Discussion, not simple Q and A section.

^This. Probably should go to Game Mechanics.

Anyways, LF> more information about Mechanic skills for DPS/DPM calculation:

-What is the delay for Laser Blast, Siege Mode and Tank Mode normal attacks on fast(3) speed?
-Can Satellites, Bot 'n' Tots and Rock 'n' Shock do critical damage? Do they ignore monsters PDRate? Are they affected by %attack and %damage potential and buffs? How fast do those skills hit/summon robots?

Until we get the answers we need (especially the ones about Siege Mode and Tank Mode speed) it's just impossible to calculate Mechanics DPS/DPM precisely.

siege mode is 120shots per 5 Seconds.

Tank speed is beetween 250-350ms, im sure 350ms on 3

Hmmm...

Assuming a Mechanic has maxed Siege Mode, Missile Tank and Laser Blast:

Laser Blast on 5 monsters > Siege Mode > Laser Blast on 2 Monsters > Missile Tank.

So for a Zakum run, the best combination of skills would be

8 to 5 arms -> Laser Blast
4 to 2 arms -> Laser Blast + Siege Mode
Last arm -> Siege Mode + Missile Tank
Body -> Siege Mode + Missile Tank

Satellite and Amplifier would be used the whole fight while Bot 'n' Tots would be used on the body and the lower arms (if you place the factory before summoning the boss), but Rock 'n' Shock would only be useful if used before Zakum is summoned.

Where did you get that information?

What do you mean with 350ms on 3? o.0

There's no way in hell it's 120 shots per 5 seconds.

He means 6*20, and he's right about siege mode, or about right from what I can('t) tell.

That makes more sense. I don't think anyone knows the exact number though, it's dependant on how soon you hold the attack button for.

350ms @ faster (3) speed?

Just thought of this btw (can't believe I was being stupid and didn't think of it sooner)

~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~

Easy way to find out how many sprays of bullets siege mode does (call it x):

use siege mode 3-4 times in place (4 if you can and it doesn't trigger the 100 att limit). Afterwards, use regular attacks while not moving until you hit the 100 attack limit (count how many it takes... call it C)

Then 100 = 4x +C, then we can solve for X lols. (possibly 100 = 3x +C if the 4th siege mode triggers the 100 attack limit... in fact its probably safer to use 3 siege modes and count from there in case you dont notice siege mode hitting the 100 attack limit on the 4th try or something)

This is really more of an estimate lols due to the fact that you could've pressed attack just a hair too late, but with enough sampling we should easily get a (whole) number for x and we can use that to find the fire rate of siege mode :3

Just FRAPs the damn animation.

Fraps = massive lag for me so I dont usually consider it an option. I'll go test my method a few times when I get the chance and report in. We're sure that 100 is the attack limit if you don't move right?

Edit:

Weird results D:

These do take into account that due to holding ctrl, you may accidentally fire off a normal shot after being done with siege mode each time (I looked and counted those).

3 sieges + count:

100= 3x +42 => x = 19.333 (got this twice)
100= 3x +43 => x = 19

4 sieges + count:

100= 4x + 23 => x = 19.25 (got this three times)

5 sieges + count:

100= 5x + 4 => x= 19.2 (got this once)
100= 5x + 6 => x = 18.8

Seems pretty centered around 19 attacks per siege mode. Not really exact here, but this should give us a rough estimate of the fire rate of siege mode.... which I have to wonder, are the attacks in sets of 3 or sets of 6? Bullets are in 3s but numbers are in 6s so that's kinda confusing. I'm assuming that attacks are in 6s though just like with TT.

so roughly 3.8 atts per second aka ~263ms per attack.

Someone out there perhaps can be a bit more precise, but it should (hopefully) land near that.

1. dont have BnT, other 2 dont crit. i highly doubt BnT crits.
2. dont know -- guessing they ignore whatever you ignore
3. dont know
4. BnT - 3 secs / summon

Well, seeing as how all summons currently ignore PDRate (sair's octo, for instance), I'd assume that the shocks do as well. Anyone can test it out at zak or something. None of the summons can crit. They do damage based off of your damage range shown in that stats window (anything applied on top of that isn't counted, such as amplifier).

I'm using a Pirate's Pistol (Fast 5).

 Tank Mode Normal Attack
450/480ms and unaffected by booster?

 Siege Mode (Tank)
It is always 18-19/20? shots, and is unaffected by booster and whether you're mounted on your tank or not.

On another note, thanks for the fullscreen buttons. Goggleemoticon

its 350ms from the database without booster?

250-350ms

Ok basically we can break down the dpm of the mechanics into a few parts.

1. AF- 11 buff - 20% dmg for 80 sec - 300% self destruct
2. Satellites + robot mastery + safety satellite = 260% - can be summoned indefinitely
3. Rock n shock/ (Bots n tots ) - 250% - 3 coils - 45 sec and 3 robots - 45 sec - 500%
4. extreme mech - adds 50 wa and 70% mastery (passive) / mechanic mastery - adds 20 wa 50% mastery?
5. Mech missile tank - adds 30% crit - swaps between siege mode for 5 sec and 10 sec in tank mode.

Maybe we can start from part 5- the mech missile tank part.

Anyone ever test #2? I have max robot mastery and 1 safety (and max satelite in 3rd) so I can easily test it, just tell me where I should go + what i should be looking for.

4582~5391 would be the damage range i would use.

Does Robot Mastery affect Satellite? Also, isn't Robot Mastery and Satellite safety damage bonus multiplicative (x1,5)?
