Let my Wife decide.
If she's in a coma or something. The Wife.
The only reason I'd have trouble for this is if she was giving birth and I had to make the decision (as in she's like 9 months pregnant).

The wife has a higher priority for obvious reasons. The baby is clearly a demon sent to disrupt your life so it'd be wise to put an end to it and continue living happily with your sweetie. Then you can try again.
I laughed.
Although I agree, I would ask my husband to save me over the child. While we would mourn the child's death, it will not be forgotten. Yes, it may kill me inside that I prefer myself alive rather than the child, but I wouldn't want to burden my poor husband with the emotional pain that is losing the one person he loves most.

5 points to Mark for making me laugh in a somewhat serious thread.

Depends on the girl and how much of a mother she is by nature. If I'm convinced she cannot live on knowing that she was chosen over her precious baby, I'll opt out of that scenario. It takes a one-of-a-kind girl to leave that impression on me, so I'll always sacrifice the baby, because this world is now void of such a kind.
This would have been a rather tough decision for me, as I am 99% interested in saving my sweetheart and trying again at the baby, she, on the other hand would 99.9% want to save her child. If one of us has to suffer from either decision made, I'd voluntarily be that one, assuming ignorance is truly bliss for her on the other side.
On a happier note, I'll be able to pour all my love for her onto the baby.

Wife, hands down. While the contention stated earlier regarding lasting psychological damage over the loss of a child could be devastating, it's not as certain of a possible outcome as the 100% chance you will lose a/the love of your life if you choose the child. As sick and immoral as it sounds, which is easier to replace?

The baby.
If my husband chose me over our baby, I'd never forgive him.

Explain yourself, little lady.
I want to know why you want your life partner to be devastated over your death.

My husband would know me and understand that I could not go through life knowing that he could have saved our child and
chose to save me. That just seems selfish to me. What if we couldn't have any more children? As for being devastated, I doubt that.
He'd be busy raising our baby. I'll still live on in our child. Circle of life. ^_^

You were incapacitated, So you could not have know what happened in the time you were K.O.
Raising this posibility your husband could have choosen to save your life instead of the child and not tell you that he had to make that decision in the first place. That way the only one with guilt would be your husband and your mental scarring would be less because its not the same damage you get if you could have saved the children than the damage from not having any possibility of saving the child.
Im rambling i know English its kinda hard sometimes >.<.

If you're going to lie, you should be expecting the truth to come out eventually. When it does, it's going to be oh so ugly.

I know, but its better than to see your wife getting worse and worse because you decided to save her instead of the child. Also Hormones.
Its worse that the truth come on right after the operation (Because shes unstable physically and emotionally), than to do it a few months or years after the deal its done.

His guilt would show and eventually the truth will come out, it always does. Things between us would be unbearable so in the end, he would lose us both.

Thats an inevitable end i agree. But i rather see my wife happy (If i really truly loved her of course) away from me, than visiting a grave every so often.
But you as a woman, how much would you be more devastated by the truth right after the cirugy? or months or years after the surgery?.

I would have lost my child and my husband. How is that good for anyone?
As I said, my husband would know me and my wishes. Why would he go against my wishes in the first place?
I still couldn't live with the fact that he chose me and not our baby whether it's right after or years later. Many marriages don't survive the death of a child.
Anyway, that's just me. I think it's selfish.

I'm not trying to be rude by saying this, but both actions would be driven by selfishness. By choosing to die for your child, you are sacrificing your husband's wish for your to live. By your husband saving you, he forfeits your wishes.

Whatever decision made, one of the two sides will seem selfish. I can understand you not wanting your husband to go against your wish, but him actually choosing the better option for you against his own wish is something I would not take for granted, nor want my girl to. Although, it's a man's job to show strength in such times. If you cannot comply with your wife's last wish, you shouldn't be thinking of marriage.
I'm curious, though. Not saying that it is at all possible, but if you had gone into coma, and wake up to learn that your husband sacrificed to save your and your child's lives, would you prefer to have been the one to pass away?

Its never a Win-Win situation to be honest.
I would honestly choose to save my wife and hide the truth to give her time to recover from the surgery and the biological changes that comes with pregnancy so when she finally knows the truth shes in top notch condition to deal with the horrible event thus the Emotional scarring would be FAR less. What happens after that depends on the personality of my wife.

But if you choose to save her then that its most likely not her last wish (NOTE in case the surgery its 100% success rate) and if you chose to save the child then you are mostly grating her last wish is it not?
Whatever option you choose its not easy because you are killing someone, and thats not pretty is it?
