President Obama's State of the Union Address 2011
#1
Just curious...who is watching President Obama's State of the Union address tonight?

Its on right now, and I'm watching it on CNN via my iPod touch as I'm typing this. If you guys want to watch it, it will likely be broadcasted on your local TV news station or a national TV broadcaster (CNN, ABC, Fox, etc).

I won't be watching it... not that I can't, but I'd rather not watch a speech filled with useless rhetoric, broken promises, and more or less a lot of hot air.

Not exactly. So far, from what I'm seeing, Republicans and Democrats are now sitting together to show unity in response to the Arizona shooting tragedy. And when the audience (US Senators and Representatives) are appluding Obama, they are doing it together, and both are showing enthusiasm. This is way different from previous years, when applauding the president was going down to party lines. Usually the party who has a president in the White House usually go all out in applauding, while the other party's response would be lukewarm.

Started listening to it from my room. Good speech, but nothing spectacular. Will listen more and post what I think.

When some people opened their minds to the fact there are bigger things than idiotic party lines that our forefathers were against from the outset.

Hopefully you stocked up on Crisco after Harrisson's last attempt to "help" you.

They always have been on the same side. They tend to agree on the major issues, but they only peach about the small details and less important issues.

Always hilarious seeing Joe Biden in the back looking quite bored.

Anybody notice that almost all the military brass refused to clap when Obama said gays could serve in the military? More progressives need to invest in a career in military science.

Does anyone actually watch the Republican response?

I feel kind of sorry for him. Sad

Didn't bother to notice, lol.

Anyways, this is my feedback about the State of the Union speech:

Lots of unity. There was no sign of any Senators or Representatives responding along party lines. Everyone clapped together. The president even made it clear in his speech that unity is the key word to success. He tells the senators and representatives "Either unite or not move on at all" . But I'm very doubtful that some - notably the Republicans - are willing to compromise.

Hahahaha she's reading right off the cue cards, not even glancing. She's not looking at the camera at all. She's turning her body toward a chart and her head is staying focused on the cue cards.

*replace cue cards with teleprompter I live in 1994 apparently.
