January 26 - February 8th

Put on your best new clothes and celebrate the Chinese New Year in MapleStory! There’s a lot to do if we’re going to turn this year into one of luck and prosperity!

Turn Back the Spirit of Evil!
It is commonly believed that the color red has the power to turn back evil spirits and bad fortune. The heroes of Maple World don’t just wait for fortune to turn around though; they make their own good luck!

Evil spirits have taken all the special red envelopes made to celebrate the New Year and planted them on monsters. Get out there and defeat them to get the red envelopes back! When you find them, turn them in to Mr. Moneybags for a random number of mesos. Turn in five red envelopes and get a FREE 30-day Hanbok Cash item!

While the calendar is called "Chinese", it is used in other Asian cultures too. Specifically, Korea. The event is actually Korean, it just uses the American nomeclature of "Chinese New Year".
