I cannot understand why you wouldn't want to mingle since you're there and they're there. It's not going out of your way.

If it helps, most of them were already somewhat tipsy, including my roommate. It's why I left the livingroom as fast as I could once I got my drink from the fridge. That and I just feel awkward around people I don't know. If it were my friend-roommate's friends, I wouldn't mind joining in. But this is a different roommate who was assigned to one of our spare rooms, who invited her friends over. :I She's nice and all but she's got so many differences from me, I doubted her friends were any different.

Me: Nah, it's fine, I'll just be in my room playing video games.
One of her friends: *turns to me* What game?
Me: Oh, Paper Mario.
Him: Super Mario?
Me: No, Paper Mario, but you're close.
Him: Oh. *turns back*

People can act as stupid as they want and not give a pomegranate, blame it on the alcohol, and everyone would be okay with that.

And @Sarah, they didn't really invite me, my roommate didn't even know I was there until I left my room for a drink. She said I was welcome to join because she thought I was lonely in my room (which I wasn't), no one else really even noticed me. :v I didn't care either, so. *shrug*

Dear Sarah and others:

We, the introverts of the world would like you to know that we are exceedingly comfortable in the presence of ourselves. We can easily spend days with the most minimal of interaction with other people. But don't misconstrue that, we like people. We really do. We just like them in smaller quantities. Large groups are tiring in the same way an extrovert probably gets a bit cabin fevered without social activity every few days. The most difficult part is when the people in question are foreign to us. If I'm going to a hooplah where 80% of the attendees are people I know (and I don't just mean faces I recognize, but people I'd be willing to sit and chat with) I'll probably have a pretty good time. But I really can't deal meet more than one or two new people at a time. I really don't want to try and meet more than one or two at a time. Again, it's a tiring experience. You'll find in a large group that I'm very passive. My answers to questions will be very short, I won't bother trying to lead a conversation, and I'll probably just try to enjoy myself listening to other conversations and people watching. Compare this to say... when I work in the dish room. I sing and dance. I sing so much they're going to put me in this silly cafeteria newsletter for it. Why? Because I'm comfortable in the dish room. It's somewhere I like to be, and I'm with 3-5 people I generally know and like to work with.

We know how to have a good time. Our good time is different from your good time. And it probably doesn't involve getting drunk.
We get revitalized from the company of ourselves. You probably get revitalized from the company of others.
And that's okay.
I wouldn't want it any other way. I like who I am.

It's a mess, as expected, though she wiped off the spilled beer from the table and floor. Cups still lying around, beer bottles and boxes and bags of trash. My roommate left a note saying she has to work until 8:30 and promises to clean everything up. Hope she keeps to that.

I lack a working camera so I had to use my laptop's built-in webcam. Hence the extreme bright on the second image.



Two Marios (one's smaller), two Koopas (smaller one was a present), two Mushrooms (smaller one was a present) three teddy bears (all presents), Buttercup (present; I once had all three, gave the other two to very special friends) Kirby, Sonic and of course Yoshi.
