What are you guys building on MC as of lately? Also, how many hours do you spend playing MC a week on average? Friend started a new world again from scratch, to add in the new updates, so.. yeah. He also gave me awesome privileges, so I can easily tinker around the Spawn Point and build a fortress-wall around town. In the middle of town will be a giant mountain, and I plan on making my aerial base somewhere up there. I also have a mine, but that's an entirely different story.

I don't know any servers, and I'm too lazy to go to the website to find one to join, so i stick to the single player.
Working on a tunnel straight into bedrock. From there gonna abuse INVedit to get enough wool to make a statue that looks like a creeper.

Awesome. I'm trying to build a statue made out of wool too (more like 2D pixel art, but whatever). It's only going to be 1 layer, but it's gonna be massive whenever I'm done with it. Probably gonna be something ANIMU, like the face of someone. I already have a tunnel straight into bedrock, but the way I dug made it easy. I would dig down, but diagonally (like a staircase). Then once I reached bedrock, I would actually put staircases on those blocks. A quick walk would take me 20 seconds from top of mine to bedrock.

Going to be installing an elevator, a waterfall elevator, HopStop pad, and all of that into my mine soon.

There's a mod that installs an elevator. Like, a regular one. I'm also going to have a water-elevator, that's why I said it twice, haha. I like having multiple exits and entrances, so I don't get too bored using the same method over and over.

I have been inspired. Making my base inside a GINORMOUS mountain now.

My d`ick was so hard watching this video, the design is pretty much near flawless . . . Any of you seen videos similar to this that you'd like to display in this thread?

Quick question here. Since I'm worried about lagging like hell on multiplayer, do the mods that boost efficiency in loading and the like work for multiplayer? Or is that only for single.

I installed a ton of mods on my singleplayer client, and it's like an entire new game.

And bukkit tanked the tf2maps server I admin, as it has a memory leak and wants a gig of memory after a few hours.

Actually, I haven't been working on that floating lava castle at all lately since I found out about the map editor and that archive map that had several amazing structures on it. I just lost motivation to go solo on that. What point is there to offering up a spawn point structure for you guys if FAR better ones exist that can be cropped into a fresh map? Ironically, despite dealing with greifers, I think that multiplayer provides more motivation on it's own to build. That said, I can't manage a server on my comp, and I know of none at this time.

...Feel free to fix that for me. Rolleyes

EDIT: Though, just going back to this topic got me an idea again for a survival server. I'm sure there are mods out there that allow Mods to force teleport players, right? I wonder if anyone has made a "wilderness" area that is entirely a no build zone far away from the main base where people would have to fight their way back home since they couldn't build a safe-house to wait for the night? You know, for those times that people get REAL annoying. Of course, you'd have to have personal teleport disabled in order for this to be of any use.

I wouldn't know of a solution of that for you. >_>

But uhhh, currently working on my base, which is literally a giant mountain. The bridge leading to the mountain to the very left is my friend's mountain, he wanted to make one similar to mine too, but with his own ideas. Uhm, the gray mountain of SMOOTHSTONES = an apartment complex that is yet to be built. "The Server God" (my friend, we call him that..) wanted to make an apartment building to house people and sh`it in it, just for luls. He has.. interesting.. ideas.

Still working on mountain. At the rate I'm going, and at where I want to be, this is barely 10% finished . . .

Are there any DECENT texture packs? all the ones in the above pictures look absolutely awful to me. I really like the original graphics because the blocks are so easy to tell apart.

Depends on your tastes. I'm using a new Texture pack atm, using Painterly. I used Doku's RPG before, I like that one the most.

Painterly and Mixcraft are pretty decent.
