International communication in two seconds. We went from 1 in 10 people with a cellphone in 1999, to 2 in 3 people with a cellphone in 2009.
In the meanwhile the internet went from 350 million to 1,7 billion users in the same period. Plus the fact that our population increased drastically makes things more likely to get picked up.

What. is. this?
Nothing different from the last 100 years. Mass deaths are normal, and it's right after new year, when fireworks is around.
The bird death in Sweden was because some guy drove over 40 jackdaws. Not 50, not 100. 40. They can't react as well in the cold as they're used to.
Missing sunspots is not unexpected, really. We have 400 years of data, and the sun is some billion years.

And the skies over Queensland Australia seems to want to dump 10 years worth of rain on us in a month.

But on topic, lol Doomsday is a bunch of bs. Sh`it always dies, not like just because more sh`it dies doesn't mean that it's a sign of the apocalypse.

Global Warming is the biggest piece of bullshit i've ever seen. On top of us more capable of picking up information from around the world, the signs from the "ancients" predicting this was wrong, too. The calendar ended. A new one would begin. On top of that, the completely natural warming and melting of the ice caps is attributed to the new ice age. It happens roughly every 14,000-20,000 years on Earth and there's no way to stop it. All this going green is good, but it won't save us from an ice age.

I use to believe the bullshit untill climate gate occured. Its disapointing that those scientists could get away with committing fraud for so long.
The current weather issues are either a result of the sun's energy output decreasing or possibly from the Gulf Oil Spill messing with the Gulf Stream.
For 2012, there is evidence to say that sun spots might fry the US's powerlines, but no evidence of a world ending event.
For the other events... I dont know. I'm still perplexed by the massive numbers of fish and birds dying.

If the US's powerlines get fried, that may as well be a world ending event for some people

That river was turned green by Floracine, the same chemical used in Chicago to turn Lake Michigan green for a little bit.

2012 is indeed coming. People are so obsessive over this. According to the Mayans, 12-21-12 merely states, "THE END". That could mean so many different things. Though it will definitely be interesting to watch the world population prepare for the worst possible scenario.

I seriously wouldnt mind the world ending. I'd even consider myself lucky to see it. But really, these news dont mean anything, even if the bird thing is creeping me a bit.

Should we begin to ponder this?
Assume that the dinosaurs were the first beings on this earth, and assume they died out with a mass extinction.
Now, humans pop up after this as take their charge of world.
Whose the say, after a doomsday event and everything is demolished and ruined, that new life could claim its supremacy?
