What do you use ` for? Where does it belong in sentences? I do not know.

Is... is it some deformed ' ?

It's some kind of " ´ " but backwards, it's used in some language(s). I really don't know in what language or the use, but they write some words like this: hòlá. (Though, "hola" is not written like that, it's an example.)
Sorry for not giving complete or useful information.

I usually use them in à, á,é, í, ú, ó.
They change the tone of certain words, and have a meaning in some langs.
