i actually don't know. I usually get distracted by something. I have a really short attention span o_O
I've been struggling in college because in High School i didn't study at all and still got A's So right now, i'm trying to find what works for me and what doesn't. 1st year i watched TV and studied; that didn't work Music seems to work for me rather well since i just need some rambling goings on to make me focus.
For now, with all the humanities i'm taking, it's just straight up read hella fast, get the point, take notes and move on.
Though i really should start studying throughout the year instead of a few days before the exam (i.e. do the readings instead of speed reading at the last minute).

Look over the book/assigned work 5 minutes before the test. If I have a teacher who can teach, I don't need to study. If I get a teacher who can't teach, I fail horribly since I can't teach myself worth a damn.

I don't study either... I just am patient with the material and pay attention in class.

I go over my notes and text book the weekend before the test, then I go over my notes everyday until the day of the test.

Going along with what most everyone else has said; I don't ever find the need to study. I can more or less prepare myself for a test by simply attending the class and giving what little attention the class requires to the lectures. If I feel compelled to study I'll just pull up the podcasts of my lectures and listen to them for a quick refresh in my spare times. Other than that, I can't say I've studied since maybe like 7th grade when my parents actually tried to make me study?

I time myself to make sure I study around 4-5 hrs per day from the start of class to the day of the exam. I study by reading the material, and then rewrite what I have learned into concept maps. I plan to start reviewing my maps on the weekend.

The only way I'm studying now is just stuff for the navy, and that's mostly just repetition whenever i get a moment to force myself to run down the stuff i need to memorize. Recognition of superior officers is the more confusing one, but thankfully i'm getting better at it.

I'll just sit on my room, door and windows closed, and focus on the book. Since I don't do too much in class I just make the tasks two weeks before the test and pass. Sometimes I find it hard to concentrate, however.
Once I've tried it with music on but that doesn't really work, except for some Ambient music.

Dinner is usually at 6:30ish for me. Right afte dinner, the night before the testr, I keep MS up, pull out a book or my school labtop for PPT notes, turn music up *not with headphones, but with actual speakers* and start reading. I'll read a paragraph/section/slide and then dart my eyes to MS to talk to my BL.
I find it less stressful to have MS up. Music is nice.
Edit: Did I mention I have a nice big desk to do that all with? That's pretty important. I used to read Bio on my bed or on a chair with the book on my lap, with nothing on. I got through it if it was interesting, but it was pretty hard.

Usually I don't study for tests, but when I do, I use the intensity method. 5 days before the test, I will read through some stuff for 10 minutes. 4 days before, I read for 20min. 3 days, 40min. etc, always doubling. It always worked for me.

I don't study cause I just GRADUATED!
But on a serious note... its a little bit different for me. I was taking 12+ classes a semester so studying was a challenge for me, especially this past week during finals. All I could do was just study for 1 subject for an hour, break, look over the next class, break, look over the next and so on. Sometimes I'd write out the key points of what the teachers made a big deal about (the more I write the better I remember the things) or I'd draw pictures to help me try to remember what I'm trying to think of. For example, my 1 final was over the Blood. I drew pictures of the cells, the blood stream, how cells moved in and out of the cell and so on. I also went mad crazy with flash cards of the things I seemed to have trouble trying to remember. No sense in re-doing something you already know.
Although this past week with finals (that were completely screwed up due to our massive snow storm that came through Michigan which closed our college for 2 days) I only studied 1 day for 3 hours, 3 classes at a friends house during a study group. Out of all 12 finals, no studying I got all my final exam grades. None was under an 85%.

I have a feeling that some people here exaggerate about their studying habits or lack of them. Studying isn't exactly cool.
I honestly rarely or minimally study. I also don't know how to efficiently study when I don't understand something. Textbooks are a pain in the ass to read. Especially math textbooks that use lots of big words and don't properly explain their steps. It's much more effective just to pay attention in class and learn things the first time, because studying IMO is a huge waste of time.
But also I am a huge procrastinator so that explains why I study so minimally.
