Disconnected in Kampung and Now Cannot Log On
#1
Describe the problem. Be as specific as possible!:

So, when I entered the Theme Park map in Kampung, my game froze and then crashed two minutes later. Now, I cannot log on using that character. I tried some advice someone gave about switching your background quality and display mode. However, whenever I look at my display mode, none of the options have that bar next to them. There is no yellow bar on the picture quality thing, no check for one of the display mode boxes. Nothing. If anyone managed to fix that problem, please help.

Thank you!

My guildie had this problem. He was able to fix it by logging on the character from a windows 7 computer (not sure whether 32/64-bit).
The ticket to Nexon got a response that said log on another character and change the graphics quality up. (system -> system options -> picture quality at the top).

I have this issue as well, neither changing the graphics quality or changing the screen resolution helps X_X

Got the same problem now. I entered the first map of the theme park and screen suddenly goes black and nothing happens. I can't log into that same character since then.

does making every graphic option oposite of what you have it and putting it windowed mode not fix it?

I'm having the same issue with my Blaze Wizard. When I try to log on, I hear the "successful login" chimes and the screen fades out, but then the game gets stuck in that state and freezes. When I open up Task Manager, I see that MS's RAM usage climbs by about 20k/second until it reaches 1.5 GB, then crashes completely with the "MapleStory has stopped working" error message.

I forgot to mention I managed to fix it this weekend. I had to change my screen resolution to 800x600, turn screen quality to "Best", and change it to windowed mode on another character. Then log back into the character with the problem. And it worked Smile

Worked, thanks Smile

Unfortunately, changing the settings back without leaving Kampung causes the problem to happen again. I'll just stay the hell out of Singapore for now.

I did it the other way lol.
Trying to get a friend out, changed to worst, 1024x768, full screen, got him out.
Win7 if that makes a difference. One guildie with a Win7 comp has 0 problems logging on characters and getting them out of malaysia. Have to ask him about his settings.

I hate to necro a thread but I just recently got this problem on one of my accounts. My aran is in Herb Town and the game crashes once I successfully log in. The difference is that I tried the opposite settings trick (best to worst, 800x600 to 1024x768, windowed to full) and then relog but the error still occurs.

I didn't know whether to make a new thread or not considering it's the exact same problem in a different location, except the solution isn't working anymore.
