Almost read it as ice splitter instead of invis shot lol. I <33333333 ice splitter. And besides the point they're both pointless, at least grenade is DoT damage post-bb (i think) so it's better than invis shot (but still fails compred to everything else)

Does anyone else feel that elemental boost is now better to get first then torped0? Because today when I was in ToT starting up the quests I found it easier to just don't use my ship that much at all. It takes about the same time to kill a mob with getting on ship, torped0 and then demount again as it does with Ice Splitter/Flamethrower. I'm level 158 with 1 elemental boost, max torped0 and yet it's still like this. Will this change in oblivion or will I be needing elemental boost over torped0? Also Frown longer air strike cooldown Frown.

Is delay=600MS
FT delay=600MS
Torp delay=990MS

IS=340%
FT=380%
FT total DoT=640%
IS+max EB=420%
FT+max EB=460%
FT DoT+max EB=880%
Torp=900%

To me they look VERY close. the problem is - if the boss\monster is immune to fire\ice? (i.e. zak summons, I use torp to clean them)
Torpedo is VERY useful. When I did CWKPQ yesterday - I was not attacking margana, I was standing on the other three bosses, spamming torpedo. (they do NO damage now, Red Nirg was doing 1's and 2's on his axe attack, 2k~ on touch)

I'd like to know if octopus is worth an early max (16x) - is the casting time worth the damage it does?

I'm curious about this too. Any Corsairs out there with max Wrath of the Octopi that have tested its damage?

I just tested octo on pap, and this is about the highest I could see. I was lagging really bad for some reason so a lot of ss failed. Otherwise I would've posted more.

Range at that time:

Range with ship:

Some cannon damage for reference:

This is all with 30% boss dmg btw.
I think Octo is worth casting at all times now if you have it. It really does add a lot of dmg now, provided the boss you're fighting is actually strong enough to last longer than 40 secs >.> (Pap takes about 10-15 secs now lol)

So if I'm only lvl147, should I still go for pretty standard Battleship+cannon+torp and now Revenge then either wrath or element boost? Or ship, cannon, revenge, boost, octo, and then torp? ._. So perplexed.

homing.

I haven't gotten any homing before BB, don't feel the need for it yet. I don't do much large-scale bossing. I'm a bit uncertain about where to plop my existing points, not future ones.

Rapid Fire still only worth 1 point post-BB?

What are the stats of Grenade at max level? Is it more worthwhile than Flamethrower in terms of DoT damage?

I maxed Grenade instead of Invisible Shot, no regrets. The damage at impact is decent but varies a lot, and I think Flamethrower DoT stacks with it. It doesn't matter much anyways, I use the Flame+Ice combo for mobbing.

Grenade isn't useful. For the DoT to be anywhere near efficient, you have to drop the bomb without charging, and that requires the monster to be point blank. And Grenade's DoT sucks.

"Battleship+cannon+torp and now Revenge then either wrath or element boost? Or ship, cannon, revenge, boost, octo, and then torp?"

Is what you said, all i was doing is indicating homing is more valuable than some of those skills.

And if you dont do any bossing, dont even bother with cannon just do torp and other mobbing/training skills.

Actually, it does matter. See, Grenade has the longest range of any of your skills (While jumping). In addition, it's damage stacks with Flamethrower's. And, to top it all off, it can be used in a battle ship.
That last one, use in battleship is important.

Random person Wrote:Why?

Because, of course, it can be charged and thrown while moving. It can also be released immediately before another attack.
So, therefore, it's free damage, no matter what job you happen to be in.

Also, seeing as it's the farthest-ranged skill, it can be used to, say, burn a cluster of oblivion monks so that they take damage. This could, situationally, result in the use of one less torpedo to kill them, ipso facto saving MP over time and proving beneficial in the long run.

To sum it up? Get grenade.

No it's not. In battleship why would you even be using grenade? Any damage you can do with grenade you can do quicker and more efficient with Cannon or Torp.

It's a waste of damage. Any damage you do with it could have been done with a different skill.

Saving MP? Really?

To sum it up? Get grenade.
It doesn't matter.

Yes, but consider the alternative. Invisible shot, which mobs half as many monsters, has NO use in third or fourth job, and is comparatively short-ranged.

Just, get grenade.
