Was Big Bang worth it?

DustBunny Wrote:To be honest this patch killed maple, this is the nail in the coffin. Now before everyone goes off about the great changes about big bang, and yes I'm aware there's some great ones, it seems one change possibly killed anything the game had too offer.

Bosses man, they nerfed them too hell and buffed us beyond recognition. I solo'd targa and scar last night, which does 1.2k damage, max at base with my achilles they barely hit me 600. This makes the game feel like a frekin private server, theres no challenge besides how much DPS you pump and how fast you pump it. Before at least there was potting, but I mean for crying out loud, I could spam sac all the way down to 5k hp then the game will keep me from continuing. Seriously they lowered the games standard to retard level.

There's easy, then theres no effort.

Malaysia wasn't changed at all. So all the mobs in that area are completely broken. Try another boss >.>

Any non-"major" boss is nerfed to hell. Pap is a joke. Zak has been a joke since potentials came out (arguably before that).

There are no solo boss challenges or even entertainment.
You could argue ht is a solo boss challenge but the main challenge is finding a way around seduce and staying connected. Then again that's all this game is. Rather than nerfing the hp along with the exp they should have upped the hp to match the exp of these mini-bosses.

As far as big bang being worth it. I still can't stay connected on w7, I'd much rather have a functioning game.

Well for me it's wonderful! I'm loving the new exp curve and can finally get a character to 4th job whitout playing 24/7. Good job Nexon, hopefully you'll soon fix all the glitches that make the game unplayable for most of the players!

I wouldn't say this patch completely has killed maple.

I'm very happy with all the buff and skill modifications. I totally creamed my pants when my Arch Mage used Thunder spear. I had no idea it was that sexy.

 Spoiler

But I had my fair share of rage when there were no SP resets given out. My AM is currently stuck with a maxed blizzard. Though I'm hoping they'll give them out, otherwise my 6 other characters on that account are screwed.

Minor glitches here and there, nothing too game breaking. I'm happy they fixed particular reported bugs from Tespia. Show's they actually were paying attention. But they didn't quite catch everything. I was impressed the FIRST THING they dealt with was the guilds issue.

So really, I would say the patch is great, but it still leaves alot to be desired.

Every second that goes by without me getting my SP resets i will kill more and more baby rabbits.

Come on nexon. Save the rabbits.

SP resets aside the patch went by very smoothly for it's size. Not many bugs to speak of.

The big bang was, in one word - epic. All the additions and changes to the game greatly improve it and the SP reset issue does not affect me because I was able to do my planned post-BB build even without it. I also noticed they improved compatibility with Windows 7 (the transparent dialog boxes bug seem to have disappeared), although it isn't perfect yet. The only thing that pisses me off is the quest reset issue... though the other new features pretty much compensate for it. Aside of that bug, the only things that bothered me are the obvious 1024x768 incompatibility of maps (check out trains, pot shops, etc.), the boss music-looping DC issue and some graphical problems (mostly the screwed up text anti-aliasing).

patch is fine. whatever; nothing too bad, new skils and quests and stuff, but w/e.

NO SP reset on long in--> Tongue

Fine i'll just allocate old SP in newer skills
*allocates*
*Missing 10 SP on all characters*--> Mad FFFFFFFFFFFFFFFUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUU-

Yeah that pretty much ruined my day. Still is, now that i see all my characters basically lose out on necessary skills.

I never logged on, but I'm an Evan who brought skillbooks, and judging by the posts...

I'm glad I'm staying on Vindictus Rolleyes.

Eosian Wrote:As a 200 the lack of SP resets didn't do a thing to me. I was able to allocate all my "returned" SP and have pretty much everything maxed.

Biggrin

The funny thing is I have various 4th job characters all sitting in the 12x range and I was able to log on to each one of them and add all my "free" SP just fine with no problems. All 1st - 3rd job skills have the points they need in them with no wasted points in them or 4th job skills. The only flaw was I forgot about CO on my Paladin and could have max out even more skills on her.

This. I can't enjoy the patch if I don't have my main skills maxed. :/

Big Bang is full of too much fail. Both my accounts can't even log on. I disconnect right after typing in my PIN.

I think this is happening to everyone in Scania atm. I can't log onto my BB Ring mules but the game is still active. Wait a bit and it should open back up for log-ins.

Well, the one positive I have gotten out of this, is the fact I can go back and redo a lot of quests, especially those that give scrolls a lot. Good for my pocketbook.

I hope the SP resets Nexon is going to offer help because I really need to redo everything from the ground up. I wish they gave AP resets as well so I could fix my DEX a bit more.

I think they need to break down the population of Scania because if their is that level of population and it is making it where the server is filled and nobody else can login at all, or has to wait their turn, something needs to be done if it's this bad. Windia has been getting in the 50+% range for all our channels too.

The problem is that since Scania is the first server (As far as I remember, correct me if I'm wrong please), there's a ton of people who have quit over time and other people who have joined as well since the start of the game. As such, so many people returned, and they returned to their Scania characters...because that's where they started along with the game. If it's truly an overpopulation issue, this would be the reason. The likelyhood of them splitting a server is low, however they could offer a free server transfer and give benefits in the under-populated servers in an event as inclination to change servers. The likelyhood of even that is still low, unless the server gets even worse.

They could also just add back channel 20 (or more channels to split the load).

I think the channels are still handled by one server...it seems unlikely that they have 19 or whatever servers for one full server, so splitting it into more channels wouldn't do anything.
