Pawnshop

Anyone ever pawned anything before? I have a bunch of tools that I used to use (back when I was a mechanic) that are just lying around now. I was thinking of pawning them for a little extra money.

The tools I have aren't cheap craftsman that you can buy at wal-mart/Sears. All of my stuff is Mac and Snap-On. The 3/8 air impact I was going to pawn costs $270 brand new and I only used it for a few months. My wrench set costs about $45 per wrench (10 piece set).

But yeah, good idea or bad idea?

It works, but don't expect to get even half of what they're worth. You can haggle with pawnshop workers, too, which is nice. I get a lot of my games from pawnshops for super cheap.

Do you mean pawning or selling? Two different things, I get the feeling you mean selling at a pawn shop but you keep saying pawning.

For the smaller stuff ebay is definitely a better option. Pawn shops are out to make money on reselling your tiems for a lower than new price so you'll most likely find yourself really disappointed with what they offer.
Selling the bigger things on ebay may be tough since shipping is prohibitive. You may find it better to list it on craigslist or something.

craigslist works too, but that's not as organized as eBay. You could also keep them for future endeavors/hobbying
