T-minus 6 Days Till Impact

I'm banking on an update nearly the size of 2.5 GB.

it's okay. I just won't log onto maple for the first 2-3 days so i don't get my character failglitched when they SP reset and the inevitable happens

This is what I'm worried about... just how big IS the update itself size-wise? couple hundred megs? Gonna be sitting on that patching screen for a loooonnnngggg time with how many people are gonna be patching at the same time.

Oh, I can't wait for the evolving ring event.
Beside everyone losing a day by the game only going live on the 8th, the expected crashes and maintenances, on top of the usual Win7/Vista issues, will make it a true challenge to get on and stay on for a whole hour every day. And if they roll back, woohoo!

All that, assuming they even fix the rings so they evolve properly...

Well BB is going to have to wait 1 week so I can focus on final exams. >_>

The update was only about 60-70 MB in KMS. Should be the same.

Here's hoping it will be playable by the end of the year.

I'll prob just log in for the ring event the first days though. SP reset will probably cause a lot of problems (mainly missing SP points, I'm afraid).

They do not take tespia and shove it into our client. Anyway, Nexon's not nearly as big of a pineappleup as you make them sound to be. They can only do so much wrong.

Actually, they did. I still remember the first tespia having some pet pickup problems exported to the real server as well, and most of the glitches I remembered reporting in the early tespia days (the first 3-4) werent actually fixed in the game client release till later on.

I suppose if you mean the "free level ups" and "free mesos/equips" and "boosted exp rates" that tespia has wont be moved over is correct. However, everything else that went through testing doesnt change, at least in my experience. Hope Im wrong though/

cant help but wonder if the wow expansion (cataclysm)coming out on that same day had anything to do with the release date decision.

Why are people assuming they're rushing this out? They closed tespia two weeks before this patch, which is the longest they've ever had between tespia and a patch. There's a good chance they're using this time to fix all the bigger bugs, and as many smaller ones as possible.

But I will miss the old maple. The hours spent training for one level... the pitiful damage of my AM... oh wait, those things suck. Comon BB!

Yeah.... I deduced it as the worst case scenario. No one logical wants to go up against WoW at this point in its popularity. It will be the most forgotten and least talked about thing for the day in terms of MMOs. It's gonna be a bloodbath. Ah well, to a diehard Mapler, it doesn't matter.

I don't think that releasing BB earlier would be any better idea. WoWnerds would play BB for that few days and then move to WoW anyways.

Ring event is my main concern lawl. And We all know how notorious nexon is at not extending their own events even when they're at fault.

Back on topic... I'm glad to see a date for it, and that it'll be around just when I get back from the Philippines! Sweet.

It's about time that they gave the date for it. I've been away from Maple a bit too long.(probably since like mid October)

Bug issues have never really bugged(lol) me at all as long as the game is playable I'll be fine. Tespia was also open for one of the longest times before a patch and closed down a couple week in advance to work out the kinks. They'll have most of their pomegranate together this time...

I'm sorry, but you have no idea what you're talking about.
WoW isn't even close to being a grindfest. You can quest solely from 1 to 80 [soon-to-be-85], unlike Maple.

Which is true, but releasing it on the day of the expansion makes us pick and choose which game to play, instead of enjoying Big Bang for a week, then moving over to Cata. It's pretty much forcing us to stick with Cata since day 1 without having the ability to play BB unless you purposely hold yourself back in Cata.
