Please help me with post-BB lvl 200 bishop build
#1
Hi there. I am one of your former members, Quantact/Derimed. While I quit Maple ages ago, I did get my Bishop to lvl 200, and I am in a bit of a pickle. I have all of my SP for all 200 levels, but seeing the BB stuff on Hidden Street, I am worried about allocating my SP incorrectly. Since 3rd and 4th job resets are incredibly expensive and I don't want to waste money on Maple anymore, I was wondering if Bishops of or around my level could suggest SP allocation for all 4 jobs. I know this would usually go in the Ask the Magicians, but I anticipate some disagreement in this matter, so I was hoping to put up a thread and get as many perspectives as possible. Many thanks!

Well, if I'm not mistaken you get 243 skill points to play with from level 120-200, and there are 260 possible places to put them. The most obvious candidate to be dropped, in my mind, would be Mana Reflection. Genesis is also possibility. I imagine some people might argue for dropping the points from Big Bang since the skill scales so poorly, but given the skill's potency I wouldn't recommend it.

So Genesis or Mana Reflection. I don't have hard numbers to work off of, so I can't say with any authority which would be more useful. 10x magic damage reflect certainly sounds interesting and would trigger more frequently than even max-level genesis, but given how much magic defense we have and how absurd Genesis' damage is now I have to sincerely wonder if Reflect would be of any real use. So, my guess would be to keep Genesis and drop the points from Mana Reflect. But then I might be missing something compelling, so feel free to rip me to pieces if that's the case.

You're not dropping Mana Reflection is the general consensus for all 3 Adventurer Magicians.

Not dropping or not maxing? >.>

If not dropping, then what instead? <.<

Well not maxing, I'm sure you could drop it all together and max some random 3rd Job skill.

I'd say mana reflection is the least useful magician skill. It still adds to your DPS so you might as well use it at whatever level you can get it.

Since you get enough SP in every job to max all but one skill, just choose the least useful skill in each job and max everything else.

1st job - Energy Bolt
2nd job - Holy Arrow
3rd job - Doom
4th job - Mana Reflection

Does everyone think Dusk is correct? Max everything but those four? Thanks!

Doom has some use as a psuedo Elemental Reset.

True, but that doesn't make it any less impractical. There's really nothing else to drop in 3rd job; having personally sacrificed some points in Door in the interest of Doom, I would recommend against it.

Another question if that's okay... if you had your books passed in pre-BB, will those books carry onto post-BB? That is, if I passed Big Bang 30, Gen 30, etc., will I be able to max those skills without getting the books a second time? Thanks!
