I've never tried WoW but I must say I get a little interested seeing all this. One of the biggest issues I have had with it is the ugly character design some races suffer from, silly as it may be. If the undead males was not so unspeakably ugly I would probably have started playing. Is there really no way to change the head/face, and especially the nose, into something not looking like a flattened potato? Wearing gear that covers is aint really a solution either.

There's different face designs. I picked the one that looked the least deformed for my undead rogue lol. It looks like a normal face almost except it's deader with yellow glowing eyes.
If there was any time to actually try WoW now is definitely the time to do it. Getting into it is SOOOOO much fun. I went back and tried some of the new starting zones/questing areas and they are by far the most fun I've had in a long long time.
Gnome starting zone is my favorite =)

An undead Warlock looks like something I could enjoy. If I got my wife into it, what would be a good match for a Warlock in a 2 man party?

for just leveling a paladin would probably work well but you can't make undead paladins so they would be in different starting areas. Leveling up to to max is pretty easy and doesn't really require a healer to be honest. Anything works with any class.
They upped the health/mana regen at lower levels to crazy amounts so you don't really have any chance of dying until like lvl 15+ when the passive hp/mana regen starts to go away. But yeah it doesn't really matter what you pick. All classes can level together without much trouble if you're just questing. If you decide you wanted to run dungeons with her and one of you was going to tank as undead then you would have to go warrior. If she wanted to heal she could go priest.
I would not recommend warrior to anyone getting into he game though. Mage or paladin are probably the most user friendly when leveling. Warriors REQUIRE extensive macro knowledge or you just won't be able to get any kind of potential out of it. Warlock isn't bad either and is really easy once you get siphon life (if you level as affliction).

druid paladin and priest can all heal and dps, so those would be good options. But really any class would work. The warlock would have a pet to act as the tank for when it is just the two of you. My recommendation would be a class that could heal or tank as well as dps so that if the two of you wanted to do a 5 man, the queue would be shorter. 2 dps would be a longer queue compared to a tank+dps(shortest by far) or healer+dps(medium queue time). I wouldn't worry about picking a class based on race/class combos, you can travel to any starting zone at lvl 1 or just level to 10 alone and join up after that.

If you have to look up ANYTHING about WoW, there are two extremely large databases with EVERYTHING in them (quests, items, NPCs, lore, blah blah).
wowhead.com
wowpedia.org
Then there's a site that updates almost every day about anything new coming out for WoW
mmo-champion.com
and Gamon is an NPC in orgrimmar used for a rogue pick-pocketing quest but he gets killed all the time since he is attackable. Blizzard decided to give the guy millions of HP with 4.0 and now it takes a raid to kill him.
btw add me on real-id guys. ruslop5234@students.ecpi.edu

Got my Undead Demonology Warlock to level 20. Stupid level cap for trial. I did enjoy the questing for sure, and once I got into the style of how controling you character worked it was pretty enjoyable. The little I saw of bosses felt a little off, it would probably feel awkward to team up with a bunch to take down the bigger ones. It feels like you have too little control of the situation if you know what I mean. Then again I am a solo player by nature and I do not really know enough about WoW to judge. Unsure if I will pay for the game. I might if Big Bang is implemented in a bad way and Nexon manages to finally ruin it for me. xD

Here's a hint
That's JUST the horde ship and not the alliance ship.

Well at low levels you're not going to see many bosses without using the random dungeon feature (Is this even available to trials?).
Too little control of the situation? Not sure if I understand that. You mean you casting while the mob is right on top of you? That's not how it works in a real boss fight lol. A real boss will hit for 4x your health (1-shot you) unless you're a tank.
Edit - is there any way to increase the resolution of my screen shots? They're really small and it's kind of hard to see them. When I view the file on my computer they're a lot bigger. When I upload it to photobucket it shrinks down like that. Maybe I should try imageshack?
