still, the lag i had online, low FPS, and the general suckage of offline survival mode... eh, not interested anymore tonight. too tired.

I think the server mod is a package deal. Lava, TNT, and fire. All or nothing. That was the objection I heard when I first suggested it. The only issue I would have with it is making stuff with lava: It can make some really nice stuff if you do it right. My tunnel uses a lot of lava, and I doubt I would be able to talk a mod (who I believe can bypass the block? not sure) into placing a few hundred lava tiles for me.

Did Erich ever backup? I was rejected when I suggested a backup after my tunnel got hit the other day, but if things got worse he might reconsider.

No worries, repaired quite a bit of it anyway, and the tunnel is practically done now. Just replacing some blocks with stone and figuring what to do with some holes since you said you'd like to keep them visible. You should see what I did with that one grief spot with the waterfall. Turned out kinda nice in the end.

Solution 2: Track the users that were given the IP of the server, compare it to when the griefing started.

While I've just gotten in within the past week, I've been going on at night and repairing the damage done. No point in me creating work for myself, so I claim myself not guilty.

One more thing. I'm not really digging the giant sponge staircase near spawn. Fun for some and all, but it just doesn't fit with the other buildings in the area. This all of course once things are back up and running smoothly.

I thought some of that cobble was new. I just went through and replaced all of the ugly cobble with nice, smooth stone. In the stairwell, at least. Currently rebuilding the entrance and mound. Mound with have to wait until tomorrow, but I think I am done with the underground work. Or almost. I know there are still cobble patches in the main tunnels that I should go over.

Server was down for a bit around 2AM, but tried again recently and I have bad news. Spawn was griefed pretty hard. I was going to attempt to repair a bit of it, but again blocks I place in spawn vanish moments later so I can't assist this time. I suggest everyone do what I've decided to do and place reinforcement blocks underneath any structures of theirs.

And for those creating the drama between themselves, please don't involve innocent bystanders. This goes out as a general message and in defense for myself since that tunnel is half mine.

Well seeing that i'll be getting level 200 in maple tommorow, i'll have time for some minecraft again but i'm kinda tired of singleplayer, could i join you guys on the multiplayer server? :3

I was on last night for maybe an hour repairing my tunnel. That's all I have done on Minecraft since the day after my tunnel got hit.

As of this morning, It looks like everyones house in the immediate spawn area has been hit by a "Griefer" except Hazzy.

Buildings blown up this morning:

Main entrance to ThatWasMyKil's House
Spawn Point's walls
Mira's Village
Both of my houses near spawn
Nineaxis Underground got hit bad
Various little spots where a building or walkway were at.

This is a preliminary damage report, there may be more after this. Keep in mind that I am not sure that this didnt happen last night, LongShotJohn and I were the only people online. We believe it happened this morning after the server was back up again.

I do not have a house near spawn. The only thing I built near spawn was a stairwell and tunnel: For some reason no one knows how to get to my house.

JohnE said he worked on repairing the tunnel a little bit, but I do not know when. I spent a while fixing it, but that was yesterday and the griefer might not have noticed it. Or they are trying to get me banned, in which case preserving my stuff might just do that. Before I touched it, it looked the same from the surface. One would have to go down it and notice the mass cobblestone to see it had been worked on.

Can I log on? I want to see what happened, but not if I am going to get hit by a rage-ban.

Right now, it looks like the griefer is still online. I cant /who and see who it is, and their character is invisible. I mentioned a /warp to one of stephens buildings and almost immediately after i mentioned it, the building went up in flames. I dont know what to do, and I cant flush players out nor can I turn the server off.

Does Erich keep backups? If he does, I would spent time looking for a name. If not, look for methods to see who is online? Running Minecraft from Terminal tells me when it loads user sprites, and the name of the sprite it loads. "Loading user sprite: ***/Zelkova"

Cabin is lost, disconnected from the server; not going back on, if zel's right then someone's in ghost mode on the server doing this sh'it.
more annoyed with the disconnect randomly than the griefing. honestly its funny, i burned down an entire forest to make that cabin, and it was reduced to bits and ashes.

To clarify: the screen turned black, and i just closed the client. now i remember one of the reasons the game annoys me, that the random lag and d/c i get from it.

You have no proof that I did anything. You propose the ghost-mode theory, then get upset when I connect, answer your question, and wander around.

If your ghost-mode theory is accurate, why would I log in? If it were accurate and I were the griefer, I would continue to wander the game TNTing the hell out of everything.


Could I have griefed? Sure, I have the means. Who does not? This game is in Alpha, and security is not what it should be.

Do I have motivation to grief? I do not hate anyone on the server. Yea, I was mad at Tofu for accusing me - I over reacted to the griefing and his accusation - but I do not hold grudges. If I were going to mass-grief to make Erich rollback, it would have been a lot sooner and I would have hit everything.

Why was my stuff excluded? I do not know. He might not have known what it was. He might not have cared. He might want to frame me - If you are reading this, griefer, you did a damn good job. He might have thought that the place was still in ruins.

Using the lack of recent griefing on my tunnel as undeniable proof that I did it is horrible moderation. Has anyone checked my cliff-side house? It is remote enough that you will have issues finding it from wandering, but I have a tunnel system built to direct people to it. To reach it, you only need some common sense, a little history on the server, and 40 or so blocks to tower out of the tunnel.

What do I gain from this? What do I get from trashing a server? Revenge? I already said that I do not hold grudges. Trolling for the sake of trolling? I troll now and again, but nothing this serious. Putting a single block of TNT in somebody's house and some water in a nearby chest is the worse I would do.

I IP banned you simply just because you are a suspect. Its not because of any other reason. Im trying to figure out who the ghost is.

I have not found anything online about a ghost-mode, other than one thread on the official forums. It is possible that they logged in under a name that is already on. They would show up on /playerlist because they are logged in. Twice.

What kind of IP logs does the server keep?
