But anyway. As for Kabanaw's question... "Van Leon. He wanted his kingdom to be peaceful. He denied to cooperate with half Black Magician, and because of that he lost his kingdom. He got pissed off, so he decided to cooperate with the Black Magician and gave his soul to the Black Magician to avenge..." That's what the video description on youtube says. Might be directly translated from the trailer, though I doubt it. Only reason I say maybe is because of the horrific english.

So it turns out Van Leon is not really evil, he's just controlled by the black mage. Now his summoning animation makes sense.
