From what I've seen logging in through the website lowers some of the problems but by no means gets rid of them.
Do what I did and send a ticket regarding a cash shop item you can't use because of disconnects. They haven't answered it, but they have sent me 7 "follow-ups" saying their busy and will get back to me. Also, as far as I can tell they actually did extent my FM permit as I asked by a month.
I'm not sure why everyone is saying that the fix will come with BB, since if I remember right, it was out before BB in KMS. So there is no guarantee of a fix in the near future like people think. In the meantime, kick-back and wait.

and yeah this is highly frustrating. Even playing as little as I have been lately i'm averaging 75 disconnects per week, which usually means once every 15-20 minutes. It tends to happen a lot more if i'm moving maps/channels/etc. than if i'm in one place, so if I can make it to a training spot or whatever i'll be ok for the duration of 2x or whatever. Too bad i'm not training and there's about a 10% chance i'll DC as soon as I enter the visitor PQ on any given attempt.

For some reason, I think it has some part to do with hardware and how Win7 uses it. My laptop is a literal first day Vista laptop, so it is basically a mid range Win XP laptop, and I have it upgraded with Win7 Pro, and I barely get DCed. The only issue I have been having is the graphics screwing up by the middle of the 3rd lvl 60+ Alien PQ.

I have 0 problems running Maplestory on my laptop. No disconnection issues that I've seen, though I don't do Zak runs or anything so I'm not sure about that. Otherwise I don't have problems handling anything in Maplestory.
Computer Stats:
Windows 7 Home Premium (64-Bit)
ATI Mobility Radeon HD 4200 graphics card with 128 MB display cache
8.00 GB RAM
AMD Turion II Dual-Core Mobile M500 2.20 GHz.
No real random lags/dc's, except when trying to do Dragon Pulse + Blizzard back to back since that can DC a bowman.

a_@ why would you have a laptop with 8 gigs of RAM yet only 128 MBs of video RAM?

It was on sale? =P
Seeing as I don't really do anything highly graphics intensive, it didn't make sense to put an extra 200 down for the same stats otherwise but higher video memory.

Higher video RAM would have been good with Maple. The RAM right now is overkill, and it probably would have evened out price wise by going with 6/4 gigs of RAM and maybe a 512 MB/1 gig video card.

Perhaps it would have been good, but so far I've never seen a need for more than what I have. I don't have any lag issues graphics wise even with the 128 MB card. And I do more with other programs that don't run so intensely on graphics, but higher on RAM usage.
More useful or not, what I have has worked fine for me in the year I've had it.

i dunno how ppl are saying they get lots of dc's from using W7
i thought i remember there was a tutorial somewhere on maple site that helps you run on W7
i dont dc that often...perhaps once or twice a day
i also heard there are ppl that can deliberately dc you (dunno if it's true)
but yeah..as i remember it..it was something like
right-click maplestory.exe, select properties
change to windows XP (sp3)
click "run as admin" and apply
but the best solution would be what fiel said, dual OS system

The hackshield deem that as haxor so you can't run it in compatibility mode. Also once and for all, the major problem lies at multi bodied bosses, not strolling around poking regular monsters. I dc just as much on my XP computer that I do on this win7 64-bit. The only difference is at said bosses. That and a few keyboard glitches here and there.

Besides the random disconnects, the biggest problem is in HT. After that, it's zak and boss runs in general.
It sucks when i alt tab, and when i try to go back in, the game keeps alt tabbing, forcing me to shut down maple in a very annoying way. Or there are times the sound will get stuck, so i'll have minar forest music when i enter wyvern cavern. After this happens for a while, or any major stupid change like this, taking an SS will dc me immediately.
Or if i afk in areas with high traffic, i will have DCed. That's why I have to stay afk in a very secluded area overnight or long periods of time when i'm not running on my XP partition.

This alt tab issue is interesting, when you go into task manager and try to close the game, svchost keep creating lots and lots of processes with each tabbing.

The work computers for me run Win7 Enterprise, I only get the 15-second lag which really only bothers me when I'm taking my time with my PIC. I have XP partitioned on my laptop, and I don't disconnect because of that - only issue I have is the alt key getting somehow locked every so often.
My boyfriend on the other hand runs Vista and can barely do anything now, but his Vista is fucked up anyways [BIOS tries to boot from external drives plugged in at startup instead of the main harddrive].
