If you won the lotto

But the lottery company decided to give your winnings in Pennies instead of a check.

Would you still take it?

Remember I'm talking about Hundreds and hundreds of millions of pennies being poured on your house here.

Thats not part of the question, besides, you'd just be giving me all your cash. When I melt it down I'll make a giant foot and stomp on your face.

That depends on the lottery sum that has been won. If it's in the hundreds of millions, there's no way to possibly store them. I would say, "tell me you're joking or fuck off." At that point, I would just use the "winning the lottery" thing as showmanship.

I thought the same thing. Apparently there are over 200 billion pennies in the world :f6:
Am I the only one who read pennies as...er...
In the real world, the transportation cost and the cost of actually producing the penny would add hundred of millions in cost (a penny costs 1.26 cents to produce). Plus in my country purchasing a foreign lotto is illegal and you can't convert coins into local currency so the entire pile would be worthless. So I'd tell them to dump it in the middle of Times Square Smile

How about we start using a debit card? or a credit card? or a pineappleing RFID smart card like we do in Japan?

But no, people will realize the net sum of all assets. debts and future liabilities cancel each other out when you sum it all up. Not to mention some wise guy will suggest dealing with inflation or deflation by redenominating currency electronically. Will screw up capitalism to its core.
