Element Amplification and the new skill Magic Mastery (4th job mages, revamp patch)
#1
hi all,

what i know about the recent patchs in KMS/ KMST is,
the Magic Mastery now increase magic attack by 20% at max level, and the Amp +150%,

Chain Lightning's damage 740%

is that mean the CL's dmg would become 740% x 1.7 = 1258% ? :f6:
or the 'magic attack' is actually refers to the weapon and eqs' magic attack and meditation's ma?

thank you for your reply in advance. = ]

This might be going a bit off topic for you, but I thought I'd address it here anyway:

First of all, after BB a multiplier on MA and a multiplier on damage are very similar because both are a multiplier on INT and LUK. However, a multiplier on MATK and a multiplier on damage are not the same thing and, as such, they cannot be added together. A multiplier on MA is slightly worse than a multiplier on damage overall because flooring MATK hurts more than flooring damage.

For example:

If you have 293 MATK, 100 INT, and 100 LUK

15% bonus to Magic Attack:
MATK = 293 * 1.15 = 336.95 = 336
Max Damage = (4 * 100 + 100) * 336 / 100 = 1680

15% bonus to damage:
MaxDamage = (4 * 100 + 100) * 293 / 100 * 1.15 = 1684

So you can't add overall +% damage (Amp) and +% MATK (Magic Mastery) because they aren't the same calculation.

---------------------------------------------

Anyway, it's disputed whether Magic Mastery gives +20% MATK or +20 MATK.

Magic Mastery was changed from +20 Ma Att to +30 Ma Att. Not %.

Infinity should be the only skill to give a % increase to magical damage in 4th job.

Also, does anyone know if amp affects the damage range, or just the overall damage?

Like, do you see an increase in your range in the stat window when you add in points to amp?

It only applies to overall damage, there's no change in damage range from amp.

 19 Amp
 20 Amp

Awesome, that means my DPS calculations for AMs were accurate.
