Update for Windians

Well I can only offer my condolences for your loss. 3k maple points and Nexon's acknowledgement in the matter is definitely better than nothing which is the case for my server.

Personally, I spent quite a large sum helping my friends make back what they lost and some losses were incredible. If it keeps my good friends from quitting, I'll do it. It's terrible what happened but every little contribution helps rebuild assets.

I do like your attitude towards the matter though, so good luck with your recovery, Miss, if that is your intent.

I think it's because I've never been Nexon'd before in the past six years I can remember and that it was about time that it happened to me for once to even it out with everyone else. Oh well, I keep making up fake excuses for myself in my mind so I don't become as upset, though it's been working out great so far even in my own acknowledgement O_o

Ah, that's good. Me too, I have always been ignorant of people who said they got hacked and things. But I was a victim of those hackings awhile back, and like you, for some reason I didn't feel all that upset.. But my losses are incomparable to yours, so yeah.. It's great you're not weeping over it, though.

Well, it's more about how Nexon acknowledges yet barely cares at all. What Nexon could have done is completely shut down Windia 1-2 hours after the SC finished (the fact that they posted an announcement at this time shows their acknowledgement of the issue) then completely rolled back Windia about ~6 hours before the SC started which is when people started losing their items. Having thousands lose what they did in up to ~8 hours is very much worth the price of hundreds losing what they did in years or spontaneously gained what they did in years. I don't think anyone at Nexon works the night shift on any day besides Tuesday, so that may be why they don't acknowledge the scania and khaini crashes. I'm really sorry about what items people may have lost in those rollbacks, but from what I understand, those were caused by hackers and not directly Nexon's fault. In Windia's case, Nexon fully acknowledged the problem yet refuses to fix it, and that's what bothers me about it.

Umm... wtp? 3k Maple Points as compensation? Are they serious?

And I don't even play in Windia.

Read the link above. Now imagine it on all free market activities.

I love how you quote half of what I wrote.

Now, I'm not trying to be a Nexon white knight or anything, and I really am curious--but could they really do that? Can they rollback specific servers only, rather than the entire game? But also, if they rolled back, say, 6 hours before the Server Check, like you said, wouldn't there still be people losing items, regardless? Since no matter what, things always go wrong and will be lost during a rollback, no matter how far it goes back or what is being rolled back in general--some people might get their items back, but others might then lose theirs, right?

Again, I'm just wondering, not trying to defend Nexon about their response to the rollbacks.

I'm assuming that the problem was that data for certain characters didn't save properly when the servers went offline.

Nexon needs to get on these errors =\ if I was a big rich supermerchant I'd MTS you Windians some free stuff, but sadly I am not Sad

The further the rollback is, the more work will be lost. And that isn't even the main concern stated in her post. What pisses off those affected by this incident is that Nexon DID admit being at fault, yet couldn't care less to do anything about it beside slapping 3k maple points in the victims' faces and the traditional 2x events while options are available to them.
To answer your question, this whole screw-up was about a single server getting rolled back alone. If it is possible by accident, I would hate to believe that Nexon doesn't know how to achieve the same end result.

It's like saying, when a school is on fire, you should just let it burn down to ashes (and apologize later!), because regardless what is done and what is not done, damage has been and/or will be dealt.

Lost a couple of INT equips due to this rollback and 3k is not enough for most players whose items got lost.

I know they're trying their best to compensate, but I would prefer a reassurance that this incident won't happen again. I wish they could've just upgraded their servers or something.

Question, players that were able to dupe cause of hellbanned are still able to do that?

Last time I lost nothing. This time I only lose 7%. Man, when am I going to get screwed, really? I keep dodging bullets and then get to enjoy the x2... .-.

Sucks for everyone else though. Repeat of last time, really, so I can only feel bad for any fellow Windian that got screwed by this. And though I don't really care I lost 15 minutes worth of playing from the rollback, or really 30 thanks to talking too much during grinding, these errors really shouldn't be happening to begin with.

If they have to shut down the game for a hardware upgrade for over a week to withstand the amount of new players and returning players, then do it, all of the current players are tired and tired of these rollbacks.

If Nexon Korea can handle 10 AND more games with about over 500,000 players playing at one time, I am pretty sure they can handle 5 games with over 10k players at once.

None of the accounts I own, know of (friend's, friend's friend's, etc etc) has been compensated, maple point-wise.

I have on my shadower. Although, it seems a bit strange since I had no idea that account was rolled back in any way, shape, or form. I really don't have confidence in NEXON's ability to find the correct people who were rolled back. :\
