Ha ha, even I wasted Maplepoints on this. So SP, how much did you get out of the new money bags in the Cash shop?

by your logic all forms of gambling are illegal. you can win $10,000 on a scratch ticket but you're lucky if you even get $1 back, get me?
2010-07-22, 11:27 AM
Gambling doesn't pull money out of thing air and ruin the economy with mass inflation. At least, not in RL.

wow dumb people grow on trees around here. For one, nobody here was talking about the economy. second of all HAVE YOU BEEN PAYING ATTENTION AT ALL and making note that hardly any money actually comes in through these bags? in fact, it's probably worse than the fixed value meso sacks. Regardless of whether that 750 mil comes in, that money hardly does anything. stuff in this game is already far too expensive. the mesos won't make a dent. especially since nobody in their right mind will buy a lot of these after discovering how shitty it is.

It took all of an hour for 600m to spill out, so I'd really like to see a source on this "they don't give any mesos" claim of yours. Regardless, it still generates millions of mesos out of thin air.
2010-07-22, 11:36 AM
Because random chance dictates that because someone got 600 million in an hour, they'll be getting 600 million every hour?
2010-07-22, 11:40 AM
Yes. There's a field that tells you how to deal with random, predictable chance. It's called statistics.
The fact that someone got 600m in the first hour or so tells us it isn't as rare as a normal distribution would tell us, so we need more data on rates. Ergo this thread.

So your point is, the economy is already broken so we can just keep on screwing it up?

I think that the 600M showed up because of how many people there are trying to do it, not how low the chances are. Most people will get very little, and those that do gain a lot will be spread out across the servers. The impact on prices will be minimal at best, and probably nonexistent in the long rung.
Just like kataras - people are selling them for 50+ mil in the Mardia FM, and in a week or so, they'll go back to almost nothing. Why? Because it's just driven up prices when something new comes out.

Except you haven't been paying any attention at all to the thread and you should probably try to stop being ignorant.
2010-07-22, 07:20 PM
I thought we already had a mathematical formula (standard deviation) to calculate how many mesoes will come out of your bag.
2010-07-22, 07:23 PM
Standard deviation is only useful if you know the distribution. Assuming normal, 750m is literally impossible, unless they round up. But that's the key word, assuming.
Also, weeeeee, could you not insult my with every post? I'm fine with people disagreeing with me, but if you can't do it maturely, don't bother.

over 300 million with 2 bags
first bag had a little over 7 second one had over 300

I spent 50k NX on bags (16 3ks or "unique" bags and 1 2k "epic" bag).
The maximum for 3ks was ~14m, the minimum ~6m The 2k gave me ~2m All told, I received about 130m from 50k NX, or less than a 1k:3m exchange rate. Selling NX in Galicia would net me approximately 1k:12m, meaning I "lost" about 37.5k NX. Woo! I seriously doubt this will cause inflation because you're nuts if you go past 10k NX on this crap which will get you about 25m give or take, lol. Not to mention this is likely temporary. And for anyone interested: 14m was labeled (in-game) as a "large sum" of mesos, whereas about ~7-9m is labeled an "adequate amount of mesos" and the 6m was a "small amount" of mesos, or words to that effect. I'm curious what they label, say, 500m+ mesos. |
