The recent exploit hackings could have been way worse.

Since the exploit mainly centered around the exchange quest in Leafre, we are all lucky that it was only happening there instead of other exchange quests.

Other exchange quests like the Showa Town exchange quest could have easily been exploited to getting thousands of bwg's and rare headbands.
The El nath EQ could have been exploited as well to gain loads and loads of experience, mesos and ores.

From what I can see right now, millions of mesos being poured from the leafre EQ was small and easily repairable at the expense of player's time and money.

But for the sake of it all, it could have been way worse. Just be lucky that Nexon didn't do a rollback to back when they implimented v0.86 to repair the problem.

I would like to disagree. Once you reach the point where a rollback occurs it doesn't matter how bad the meso/exp hacks are. They are all on the same level since the rollback nullifies any damage done.

The only way it could have been worse is if, like you mentioned, it had been rolled back to a point further in the past. Which again has nothing to do with how bad the hack is but rather how long it has been abused.

Supposedly you can avoid rollbacks by hiding items with duey. Since the items remain in limbo inside the system for a day, it's hard to say if absolutly everything gets rolled back.

This only applies when they do direct queries to modify the database, not a true rollback. Because they're only hitting the tables they specify if they don't manually include the storage tables they get missed. Inventory, equips, boxes, cash shop and so forth are all separate tables in the same database.

A full/true rollback is when they literally drop the entire database and reload it from another day's backup.

The rollback took out all the Duey items as well. I can confirm this.

Seconding confimation. Friend of mine decided on his own I'd be the sale guy since he hardly plays anymore and is satified with enough for pots.

What's the point of this thread anyway? Yeah, they could have rolled us back even more. My mind is blown.
