The Dark mage's origin?
#1
You know, howcome I have the feeling that Nexon's gonna pull a plot out of their asses where the Dark mage is really the Time Goddess' twin brother and there was an ancient city that was part of the temple of time, but it was destroyed by the dark mage. Rolleyes

I made a short story of this on the nexon forums, but I think it got deleted from being too old. Biggrin

Hmm...I doubt he was evil from birth so...

Maybe he was somewhat like Urete. Shunned and mocked by society, his hatred toward them grew and he thus went to the dark side...except that while Urete was brought back to his senses, the Black Magician fell deeper and deeper into hatred.

p.s. Why not make a thread to discuss what we think Nexon will do regarding the Black Magician in the future?

Didn't we learn from the Magatia storyline that he used to be a normal human that researched a lot into magic/alchemy and eventually discovered a spell to become immortal?

Sounds much like Voldemort, lolol.

I second that.

In fact, it's really hard for me to think of a solution about the "Black Mage" problem.

I mean, this is a MMORPG. The Black Mage should be the end game boss, but as everyone knows, MMORPGs don't end. How will they manage that? Will they make him always come back or will they just make him able to be fought just once? (well, I mean, until he's defeated, which is really hard to think since not even Pink Bean was legitly defeated in GMS yet)

I also wonder what will they come up with for the release of the Black Mage. I hope it'll be something REALLY epic, and something tells me that this hope will become reality.

Someone had described a scenario where every group of players had a role.

Explorers, Cygnus (who are designed to fight him), Heroes, and whatnot... each get to fight a different stage, every job was needed, and it was a long multi-boss battle with maps in-between like the DrPQ. Something like that would be really epic. I love the idea of the maple world having to work together to defeat him, as in... if I'm a level 120 Blaze Wizard, I'm just as needed as a level 200 Hero for the battle, since you need everyone.

Probably they should also make it that only max-level characters can battle him (ultimate end game content), or at least 190+ for Explorers and 120 for Cygnus. Upon defeat you could get an awesome reward and cutscenes, and then probably some crap like "sorry Mario, but your princess is in another castle!" saying the Black Mage is still immortal or whatever, and then Nexon milks the franchise for other 7 years until they take over the world with their money. THAT'S when the real terror commences.

Minus the all classes part, your idea is awesome. [/color]

Jenka and Ballos were brother and sister, Ballos goes mad with power and destroys a city, Jenka seals her brother, and later a hero comes along and defeats him for good.

I think you meant. "How on earth isn't this Cave Story?"

Well, Cave Story itself borrows from other RPG's. It was just the first game that came to my mind that when I read that.
