Which one? I just tried all three and they all checked out.

10 Mastery
I'm getting (211*4+45)*1.6*.66*.45 = 422.45 for minimum, which rounds down to 422, not up to 423.
2010-06-21, 09:43 PM
Maybe the min is based off the rounded max.
(211*4+45)*1.6*.66 = 938.784 rounds to 939, 939*0.45 = 422.55 rounds to 423.

If you do the min range based on max range then it works out. Maybe that's how they did it? I dunno, probably not.

Cyanne Wrote:Maybe the min is based off the rounded max. Yeah, that's why I specifically based the MIN damage on the MAX, rather than a clone of the formula. If you want to be more accurate on the MAX formula, you could add 0.5 to the result and truncate. MAX = (int) (6.4*DEX + 1.6*STR)*(ATT/100) + 0.5 MIN = (int) (base mastery + mastery % * MAX

Has anyone done testing on the effect of the crit that all classes come with yet? My Slinger doesn't have crit yet; if no one has tested this I'll do it now.

Sounds great. Please do test it. Make sure to post all WATK including bullets, STR, DEX, and which mob you used.

376 ~ 578
Attack: 53 (31+12+10, Gun+Blessing+Bullets) STR: 38 (37+1) DEX: 161 (160+1) Notes: No Crit skill, only Mastery. Spent about 30 minutes on each attack. Mob: Green and Blue snails ~Attack~ Min non crit: 338 Max non crit: 519 Min crit: 444 Max crit: 760 ~Double Fire (130% ~Min non crit: 440 Max non crit: 675 Min crit: 563 Max crit: 899 I was going to use just green snails, but I didn't notice any difference in damage on blue snails so I used them too.

KaidaTan Wrote:376 ~ 578 Just from your observed criticals, you seemed to get about an average of 172.7 - 172.9 damage from criticals. Your average damage range is 477, or 429.3 adjusted for defense. 172.8/477 = 36.23%, 172.8/429.3 = 40.25%. I think criticals might be adding 40% defense-ignoring damage. Edit: nevermind, doesn't fit

I guess not much has changed then.

KaidaTan Wrote:Not multiplying? Still adding? I guess not much has changed then. The average critical damage you got from both types of attacks were extremely similar (+172.7 damage on your regular shots, +172.91 on your double shot shots), but the weird thing was that the regular shot critical bonuses varied a lot more (105.6-239.8) than did the double shot critical bonuses (123.08-222.74). I'm assuming you tested your damage a ton since your non-critical values are spot-on or just 1 damage away.

I hope we can get these formulae nailed down soonish.

(from a lot of posts back)
Range: 388-597 Observed critical double shot: 592-928 Minimum proportion: 1.5258 Average proportion: 1.5431 Maximum proportion: 1.5544 Range: 376-578 Observed critical double shot: 563-899 Minimum proportion: 1.4973 Average proportion: 1.5325 Maximum proportion: 1.5554 Seems like the higher the randomly picked number from your damage range is, the more criticals affect that number, hmm. Edit: Defense-ignoring +30% to +40% seems to fit decently. 388*(0.9*1.3 + 0.3) = 570 min 597*(0.9*1.3 + 0.4) = 937 max Observed: 592-928 376*(0.9*1.3 + 0.3) = 553 min 578*(0.9*1.3 + 0.4) = 907 max Observed: 563-899 See if you can hit under a 553 or above a 907 critical double shot to disprove this.

Cyanne, doesn't work. Change the multiplier to 1 (for regular attack) and the numbers don't work with Kaida's results anymore.

Theory:
Critical is now a range; hence the +criticalminimum%, and by default it varies between 30% minimum to 50% maximum, for a Gunslinger at least. Considering the extremely low % activation for default critical, this could take some time. We could double check the critical minimum idea with the 2nd job skill easily though, just by seeing if the range fluctuates as much anymore. iAmFear Wrote:Edit: Actually, I think base mastery is tied to the weapon itself, I guess that makes more sense. [COLOR="orange"]Maybe the minimum Crit damage is the same way? Do the new Critical skills affect you only when you have the proper weapon equipped or at all times? ah, should have thought of that. BRB getting the text.
Google Translate: Is to show the probability of critical parts. The default is 5% chance of critical skills and items can be increased to. At least 120% of critical damage to the maximum 150% increase in skill and items can be.

So does that mean SE can stack with Thorns or anothers SE to max out the critical rate?
2010-06-22, 02:06 PM
So: 5% chance of doing 120% - 150% damage. Items and skills can modify it.
